Job Description

As a Technical Consultant for Wallstreet Suite, you will be responsible for supporting client requests, maintaining client extensions, interfaces, and processes using best practices. Key responsibilities include hands-on Center of Excellence (COE) duties, Business as Usual (BAU) support, static data maintenance, managing custom code and interfaces, running system activities, performing minor enhancements and fixes, and liaising with ION's Support Services for core bugs or enhancements. You will attend product trainings, gain proficiency in business areas, follow documentation and delivery standards, track deliverables, and inform stakeholders of progress. The role involves full chargeability on client accounts, potential travel to customer sites, participation in requirements analysis, custom code development with team lead assistance, gathering technical requirements, and demonstrating strong reporting and development skills. You will adhere to ION's best practices, participate in product deployment and configuration, and gather system requirements, test plans, and other deliverables.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or IT
  • 2+ years of industry experience in Software Design and Development or deployment
  • Experience with Python, Java, or API integration
  • Minimum 2-year experience with ION products or ETRM/CTRM
  • Experience with RDBMS like Oracle or MS SQL Server
  • Experience writing SQL scripts
  • Experience with Interface implementation
  • Fundamental networking knowledge
  • Ability to follow system deployment steps
  • Ability to follow design specifications
  • Experience with IDEs like Visual Studio, Eclipse, VS Code
  • Experience with GIT, TFS, Confluence, Bamboo, Jira, NetSuite
  • Experience with Office productivity tools
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts
  • Strong Object-Oriented Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite at client locations
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Good to have:
  • Treasury experience is a plus
  • Experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting installations of enterprise software

Job Details

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join ION as a Technical Consultant. As a Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting client requests as well as maintaining client’s extensions, interfaces, and processes following best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assume hands-on Center of Excellence (COE) duties for Wallstreet Suite throughout the engagement.
    • Those include but not limited to, Business as Usual (BAU) support, static data maintenance, managing of client’s custom code and interfaces, running system activities, performing minor enhancements, fixes, and configuration of the system, liaising with ION’s Support Services team on core bugs or enhancements.
    • Attend Product trainings to gain knowledge of the system’s functionality, architecture, and technical components.
    • Gain proficiency in one or more business areas.
    • Follow documentation standards and resolution process flow for all deliverables.
    • Follow delivery methodology standards.
    • Track deliverables to estimates and deliver on time.
    • Keep Manager and engagement owner(s) informed regarding the status of assigned responsibilities.
    • Maintain full chargeability on client account(s) as assigned.
    • Travel to customer site to work on projects as needed.
    • Participate in requirements analysis, custom code development (design/configuration/testing) and provide support for the client’s business needs with some assistance from the team lead.
    • Gather and document technical requirements with guidance from lead, code to specifications.
    • Demonstrate strong reporting and development skills.
    • Adhere to ION’s best practices.
    • Participate in Product deployment and configuration at client site or ION Cloud with some assistance from the team lead.
    • Gather and document system requirements, test plans/results, and any other deliverables required by the engagement. 
    •  Gain proficiency in one or more technical area for the system (interfaces, deployment, performance tuning, database analysis, etc.)
    • Setup internal ION Product Environments for testing and validation as needed.
    • Some travel to client site may be required.
    • Must completely overlap EMEA CET hours and some US Eastern time coverage up to 1pm ET. 

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

    • Product Specific Qualifications:
    • Strong technical foundation background.
    • Python and SQL knowledge.
    • BAU support activities per role profile, BAU support for lower complexity items such as reports, processing, deployment of packages.
    • Fast learner and self-starter
    • Treasury experience is a plus.

    • Technical Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a directly related IT field.
    • 2+ years’ industry experience in Software Design and Development or deployment
    • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Python, Java, API integration.
    • Minimum 2-year experience with one or more of the ION products or another ETRM/CTRM
    • Experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting installations of enterprise software in client environments is preferred.
    • Experience with RDBMS such Oracle or MS SQL Server is required.
    • Experience with writing SQL scripts in Oracle or MS SQL
    • Experience with Interface implementation following industry standard integration patterns.
    • Fundamental networking knowledge
    • Ability to follow system deployment steps with little guidance from senior team members
    • Ability to follow design specifications with little guidance from senior resources.
    • Experience working with Integrated Development environments such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code
    • Experience with source control and continuous integration tools (GIT, TFS, Confluence, Bamboo) and issue tracking systems (Jira, NetSuite) is required.
