Job Description

As a Threat Intelligence Analyst at Springer Nature, you will be responsible for developing and executing our threat intelligence strategy. Your role will involve identifying and understanding the cyber threat actors targeting Springer Nature, and leveraging intelligence on Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) to enable the business to execute proactive countermeasures and reactive remediation of cyber threats.
Must have:
  • Development and implementation of Springer Nature's cyber threat intelligence strategy.
  • Identify and track targeted intrusion cyber threats, trends, and new developments by cyber threat actors.
  • Utilise TTP intelligence to improve our products and cyber security controls.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the broader cyber security community.
  • Develop, implement, and review operational policies, playbooks and supporting documentation.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and partners to ensure the integration of external threat intelligence and maintain up-to-date security measures.
  • Work with the business to explain cyber security threats and advise on mitigation strategies.
  • Identify intelligence gaps and propose new tools and research projects to fill them.
  • Conduct briefings for executives, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advise and fulfil ad-hoc analysis and requests.
  • Prepare and present a monthly report on performance and KPI’s.
  • Support strategic decision-making of senior team with analysis and presentations.

About the Role

As a Threat Intelligence Analyst at Springer Nature, you will be responsible for developing and executing our threat intelligence strategy. Your role will involve identifying and understanding the cyber threat actors targeting Springer Nature, and leveraging intelligence on Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) to enable the business to execute proactive countermeasures and reactive remediation of cyber threats.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of Springer Nature's cyber threat intelligence strategy.
  • Identify and track targeted intrusion cyber threats, trends, and new developments by cyber threat actors.
  • Utilise TTP intelligence to improve our products and cyber security controls.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the broader cyber security community.
  • Develop, implement, and review operational policies, playbooks and supporting documentation.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of IT and Security Operations Center (SOC) experience, with a strong preference for experience in threat intelligence.
  • Ability to tell a story with cyber threat intelligence.
  • A genuine interest in cyber security.
  • Strong knowledge of the current threat landscape.
  • Strong understanding of TTP and cyber threat actor analysis.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with the wider cybersecurity community.
  • Able to work within a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated involvement in the larger OSINT community.
  • A strong quantitative, creative, and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Well organized and accurate with good time management.
  • Ability to learn and apply new systems, methodologies, and practices to improve day-to-day work.
  • Computer Science degree.
  • Cyber Security and Threat Intel related certification.
