Job Description

This Triage Health Support role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure optimal health and rehabilitation outcomes for employees. Key responsibilities include managing an early intervention portfolio, implementing programs, delivering informed solutions, and identifying needs for rehabilitation. The role also involves providing first-line support, maintaining case documentation, and assisting in performance reporting. Critical incident response for serious mental health related incidents, provide make safe advise and assisting Triage and Incident Response teams in the management of safety incidents are also required. The role requires at least 12 months of experience in health or injury management and/or workplace rehabilitation.
Must have:
  • Minimum 12 months experience in health/ injury management and/or workplace rehabilitation
  • Solving problems of moderate complexity
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Written and oral communications and presentation skills
  • Medium to Advanced skills with various Microsoft applications
Good to have:
  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Osteopathy, Nursing or Exercise Physiology
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry

People, Culture and Communications - Wellbeing & Workplace Relations oversees Telstra's wellbeing and workplace relations programs.

About the Role

The Triage Health Support role requires close collaboration with the Triage, Health Management and Rehabilitation (HMR), Incident Response (IR), and Global Case Management (GCM) teams to ensure optimal and timely health and rehabilitation outcomes for our employees and the business.

The key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Managing a diverse early intervention portfolio for current employees dealing with both work-related and non-work-related physical and mental health conditions.

  • Collaborating with our Health Management and Rehab team to implement Telstra’s early intervention program and strategies, addressing the impacts of work-related and personal health conditions on both individuals and the organization.

  • Delivering informed solutions that ensure fair and equitable outcomes for employees and Telstra.

  • Using medical information and identified risk factors to determine the appropriate level of support.

  • Represent Telstra and your team by providing first-line support and stakeholder liaison for your function, ensuring enquiries and requests are responded to effectively and professionally.

  • Identifying the needs of those requiring additional support through a rehabilitation program and facilitating a comprehensive handover to the Health Management and Rehabilitation Consultant where appropriate.

  • Supporting the development and implementation of policies that promote best practices in health management and rehabilitation systems.

  • Maintaining case documentation in accordance with Telstra’s record and case management practices.

  • Assisting in the implementation of early intervention and rehabilitation performance reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Contributing to or leading initiatives related to best practice Triage Health Early Intervention Health Management programs.

  • Provide critical incident response for serious mental health related incidents, provide make safe advise

  • Assist Triage and Incident Response teams in the management of safety incidents during periods of increased volume as required

To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications:

Essential

  • Relevant Allied Health or Rehabilitation Counsellor qualification

  • Minimum 12 months experience in health/ injury management and/or workplace rehabilitation (essential)

  • Solving problems of moderate complexity

  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships

  • Written and oral communications and presentation skills

  • Medium to Advanced skills with various Microsoft applications Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong customer service focus

Highly desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in either:

  • Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Osteopathy, Nursing or Exercise Physiology

  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry
