Job Description

Survios seeks a UI/UX Designer to create visuals, implement and maintain user interfaces, and collaborate with the UI/UX team. Responsibilities include developing UI aesthetics, creating UX wireframes and designs for cross-platform applications, creating final assets, designing UI/UX concepts and motion effects, collaborating with game development teams on in-engine UI improvements, refining work with directors, promoting user-centered design, and contributing innovative ideas. The ideal candidate has 3+ years' experience, Unreal Engine 5 proficiency, strong 2D rendering and problem-solving skills, and a passion for game development. They should be a self-starter, effective communicator, and comfortable collaborating across disciplines.

  • VR platform experience (Oculus, Vive, PSVR)
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
Must Have:
  • 3+ years UI/UX design experience (PC/Console)
  • Unreal Engine 5 experience
  • Strong 2D rendering & problem-solving
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite (PS, AI, AE, XD)
  • Excellent communication & collaboration

Survios currently has an opening for a talented UI/UX Designer. As a UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating visuals, implementing and maintaining user interfaces, and collaborating with the UI/UX team. Applicants should be enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with other developers across disciplines, seek out opportunities to dive in, solve problems, and make improvements wherever necessary.

The ideal candidate has experience working with a cross disciplinary team. Candidates should have technical fundamentals using Unreal, strong 2D rendering and problem solving skills. Candidates are expected to be self-starting and proactive in identifying risk and determining solutions. They should have a passion for adding the extra polish that sets our games apart.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing the UI aesthetic from concept to execution.
  • Create intuitive, user-centric UX wireframes, page layouts, interactions, prototypes, mockups, iconography, and 2D UI designs for cross platform applications.
  • Creates final assets for implementation.
  • Design and develop UI/UX concepts, animatics and rendered motion effects.
  • Interface closely with our world-class game development teams to edit and improve interactive menus, interfaces and HUDs in-engine.
  • Work with directors and department leads to refine your work, help maintain the UI/UX team responsibilities, and best practices.
  • Research and promote user centered design practices and principles in meetings and presentations with stakeholders, and teams across disciplines.
  • Contribute, innovate, and develop original ideas on all aspects of game production and development.

Requirements:

  • Ability to create and implement concepts from wireframes to shippable art with minimal support.
  • Minimum 3 years as a UI/UX Designer for PC and console games.
  • Unreal Engine 5 experience including materials and blueprints.
  • Strong Self Management skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to show examples of your work as it relates to PC and console games.
  • A strong passion for video game development.
  • Can effectively prototype ideas in Adobe Suite, commonly utilized UI/UX tools, or Unreal.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with developers, designers and leads from other disciplines.
  • A natural curiosity for all aspects of game development and a willingness to work on a wide variety of game systems.
  • Strong visual portfolio related to games.
  • Strong knowledge/proficiency of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Adobe XD.

Pluses:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in digital media, design or a related field.
  • Experience working with Virtual Reality platforms including Oculus, HTC Vive and Sony PlayStation VR.

Base salary range between $100,000 USD - $115,000 USD ( Base salary range for applicants located within the United States )
