The Vulnerability Assessment Manager will support the timely delivery of Barracuda Managed XDR Vulnerability Assessment services for our customer base. The Manager, Vulnerability Assessment works among a skilled global SOC team to address security matters across Barracuda XDR customer base. This role supports 24x7x365 operations.
What you’ll be working on:
- Responsible for end-to-end management of the vulnerability assessment service.
- Support the implementation of the vulnerability scanning service for new customers.
- Responsible for ongoing management and maintenance of the vulnerability scanning application.
- Facilitate meetings and deliver reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations for patch management based on industry expertise.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for vulnerability assessment service requests.
- Participate in the SOC emerging threat process in order to ensure a proactive approach to new vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with other Barracuda XDR SOC teams to optimize initiatives such as threat hunting, alert enrichment, etc.
- Measure and track metrics and performance indicators of the vulnerability assessment service.
- Conduct gap analysis and R&D to improve overall vulnerability assessment operations.
- Automate various aspects/tasks of the service lifecycle to drive efficiency and quality for our customers.
- Ongoing updating of our SOC knowledge base and training program.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- 5+ years working in cybersecurity operations.
- Strong leadership, customer service, and presentation skills.
- In depth knowledge of common vulnerability scanning tools such as:
- Rapid7 InsightVM
- Tenable Nessus
- Qualys
- Shodan
- Experience working with a variety of IT environments (Windows, Linux, Mac, cloud computing, IoT, virtual deployments, etc.)
- Knowledge of core networking concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience handling key facets of vulnerability management, especially emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
- Knowledge of common cybersecurity compliance requirements pertaining to vulnerability management.
- Experience conducting project planning and execution, research and development, and overall program management related to advancements vulnerability assessment.
- Programming skills preferred
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in cybersecurity or relevant field is preferred.
- GEVA, CVA, PenTest+, CEH, or similar certifications are preferred.
