Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter

The newest addition to the division will be Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter (WBSTT), an indoor attraction that will invite visitors to step into the fascinating behind-the-scenes world of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World. The Studio Tour Tokyo will offer special features to enable visitors to deepen their understanding of how the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films were made. With iconic film sets to explore, costumes and props to discover and magical experiences to delight, the indoor attraction will invite visitors to enjoy scenes from the films first-hand and discover how the world's favorite book series was brought to life on screen.

Unlike a theme park, the Studio Tour will allow visitors to step into film sets and enjoy an exciting entertainment experience. This will be only the second tour of its kind in the world and will build on the hugely successful Warner Bros. Studio Tour London (WBSTL).

Covering over 960,000 Sq Feet Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter will be opening in Toshimaen in the first half of 2023.
 

Primary Purpose of the Job:

The goal of this job is to maximise sales and profit performance of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London through engaging the team, inspiring world class customer service, implementation of the highest commercial standards and effective stock management.

Essential Job Functions:

Sales

  • Leading and engaging with staff to achieve the highest possible levels of sales performance.
  • Analysing and interpreting commercial data and feeding back information on product performance.
  • Ensuring the team are following all profit protection and loss prevention policies.
  • Visible leadership presence on the shop floor, to ensure world class visitor experience is delivered.
  • Ensuring the store is merchandised to the highest standard and developing awareness of presentation standards in the team.
  • Delivering industry leading sales targets by fully maximising all opportunities.
  • Effective commercial management of the store, developing sales forecasts, positive solutions, and documented action plans to maximise store profit.
  • Optimize service provided by team and self, leading by example, to increase customer conversion and average spend.

People

  • Setting direction in daily briefings to keep all members of the team fully aware of all activity within the department and wider business.
  • Drive interaction between our team members and visitors, to improve customer experience and satisfaction in line with key performance indicator (KPI) targets.
  • Adhering to all H&S policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all visitors and staff.
  • Managing the content and frequency of staff training strategically, to ensure the team is fully equipped to care for visitor needs.
  • Communicating and working together with other WB divisions and partners.
  • Recruiting roles and managing performance and development.
  • Developing opportunities for the team to grow their skill sets.
  • Taking responsibility for own personal development through one-on-one coaching from line manager.
  • Monitoring and reviewing results and evolving processes accordingly.

Product

  • Identifying potential out-of-stock issues and communicating back to line manager and colleagues.
  • Work with any merchandise partners and Head of Retail to develop new products and ranges to meet the needs of our visitors.
  • Maximize margins on new and existing lines through range management, cost management and proposed adjustments to retail prices.
  • Monitor stock levels held in stores and retail areas, identify potential out-of-stock issues, and communicate back to line manager, partners, and colleagues.
  • Ensure the store is visually merchandised to the highest standard.
  • Ensure sales floor stock densities and replenishment systems are at optimum levels through effective stock management and operational efficiency.
  • Lead on security issues for the retail team and encourage minimal shrinkage through the efficient handling of product and packaging.
  • Ensure effective and accurate inventory control in order to maximize stock replenishment and densities.

Administration

  • Ensuring administrative work, including scheduling and payroll, is accurate and up to date.
  • Collate information and prepare reports ensuring accuracy.
  • To ensure administrative work is accurate and up to date.
  • Using stock management programs, manage and authorize purchase orders in accordance with Warner Bros. policy.

Selection Criteria

Relevant Previous Work Experience

  • Management experience in a similar retail environment (or the tourism, leisure, Caracter business or variety of consumer products industry).
  • Experience of having worked in an environment where high emphasis is placed on service, product presentation and commercial management.
  • Demonstrate people management including employee relations.
  • Working with Point of Sales systems and Stock Management systems.

Skills Required

  • Highest levels of customer service.
  • Develops and motivates individuals & teams to achieve goals.
  • Proactively seeks out opportunities to increase sales.
  • Ability to analyse and respond to sales data.
  • Problem solving and decision making across all areas daily.
  • Communicates in a timely & effective manner to enhance store operations.
  • Engages effectively with customers & staff.
  • IT literate.
  • Well organized and focused.
  • Able to prioritize workload and manage change in an environment that never stands still.
  • Work as part of a team with a flexible and caring approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in Japanese and English

Education/Qualifications

  • Full use of Microsoft Office 365 would be advantageous.

Working Pattern:

  • 37.5 hours a week working shifts.
