Job Description

The Arabic Language Wellness Navigator provides individual and group-based wellness services, including essential health literacy instruction, facilitation of wellness groups and individual in-home coaching. The primary goal of this position is to assist refugees and other eligible immigrants to achieve holistic wellness in their new community, including physical and mental health, community connection and family well-being. The Navigator must be a native speaker of the Arabic language. World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. They are expanding their team to meet increasing needs and are looking for individuals passionate about justice and serving vulnerable communities.
Must have:
  • Conduct individual client need assessments to identify areas of health navigation and health education.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement individual service plans.
  • Provide individual health coaching on preventative care, health system navigation, and pharmacy utilization.
  • Accompany clients to health appointments to provide in-person coaching for independent navigation.
  • Execute evidence-based peer support curriculums in individual and group settings.
  • Facilitate community gatherings to reduce isolation and increase connections.
  • Participate in organizing and executing wellness related events, including women’s health and vision clinics.
  • Provide referrals to community partners based on identified needs.
  • Translate notices and flyers related to public health.
  • Serve as culture broker to the WRD team, providing cultural insight.
  • Mature and personal Christian faith.
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities.
  • Able to affirm World Relief's Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document.
  • Valid driver’s license, regular access to vehicle, and willingness to drive clients to appointments.
  • Flexible schedule for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Good to have:
  • Bachelors degree in social work, public health or similar field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, including SharePoint.
  • High levels of comfort with technology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Arabic Language Wellness Navigator provides individual and group-based wellness services, including essential health literacy instruction, facilitation of wellness groups and individual in-home coaching. The primary goal of this position is to assist refugees and other eligible immigrants to achieve holistic wellness in their new community, including physical and mental health, community connection and family well-being. The Navigator must be a native speaker of the Arabic language.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct individual client need assessments to identify areas of health navigation and health education that are needed.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement individual service plans.
  • Provide individual health coaching on a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, preventative care, navigating the health system and utilizing a pharmacy.
  • Accompany clients to health appointments to provide in person coaching to help them learn to navigate doctors’ appointments independently.
  • Execute evidence-based peer support curriculums in individual and group settings.
  • Facilitate community gatherings to reduce isolation and increase connections within the community.
  • Participate in the organization and execution of wellness related events, including, but not limited to an annual women’s health event and bi-annual vision clinic.
  • Provide referrals to community partners, according to needs identified in individual service plans.
  • Translate notices and flyers related to public health, both from external sources and those developed by WRD.
  • Serve as culture broker to the WRD team, providing cultural insight to inform and shape client services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Advanced cross-cultural fluency, with ability to collaborate effectively with team members of other cultural, linguistic or religious backgrounds
  • Valid driver’s license, regular access to vehicle, and ability/willingness to drive clients to appointments
  • Flexible schedule for occasional work during early mornings, evenings (1-2 times/month) or weekends (1-2 times/year)
