Job Description Job Title: SENIOR CHARACTER ARTIST <ul><li>Note**: Final Designation/Level will be decided based on the relevant experience and interview ratings. </li></ul>
JOB SUMMARY: As a Senior character artist, you will need to solve a wide range of problems with well-rounded experience across multiple disciplines, with specialization in character production workflow. you will be working under the direct responsibility of the Lead Art and interacting closely with the Producer and the Art Director, you will be responsible on collaboration and report to the Lead artist as a team as monthly content pushes and reaches milestone. RESPONSIBILITIES: Create realistic/stylized 3D models and textures including characters, creatures and accessories and work efficiently and effectively within the technical constraints of production. <ul><li>Consistently refine one’s own artistic abilities and learn new software packages and in-house tools.</li><li>Work closely with other departments (designers, artists, and technical artists) to ensure art assets are working well and create a great player experience.</li><li>Support the lead in training, creating workflow documentation and scheduling tasks.</li><li>Mentor and train other 3D artists. </li></ul>
THE PROFESSIONAL VALUE YOU BRING: <ul><li>A Graduation / Diploma / Degree in Fine-arts/ graphic-design, videogame development or equivalent training.</li><li>5-7 yrs. of development experience, ideally having shipped console AAA titles as a character artist.</li><li>Proficient knowledge of 3DSMax/Maya, Painter, Photoshop, and hand-painted textures.</li><li>Exceptional sculpting abilities in Zbrush and deep knowledge of marvelous designer/cloth sculpting or simulation along with hair and fur subsystem (Xgen, Houdini).</li><li>Capable of working in other art disciplines (Environment, Animation etc.) and other Engine technologies (Unreal Engine, Unity etc.).</li><li>Good understanding of human anatomy, Topology &amp; Joint’s functionality.</li><li>Complete understanding of all current generation production workflows including PBR workflow/Lighting pipeline and shader tools.</li><li>Ability to work in engine toolsets, defined asset workflows and contribute to overall character department goals and working practices.</li><li>Monitor the quality of outsourced character assets to ensure technical and artistic integrity.</li><li>Work closely with other departments, suggest ideas and solutions for making a better game.</li><li>Aesthetic ability to improve details with minimal concept and art direction.</li><li>A strong portfolio demonstrating game art with processes and techniques used. </li></ul>
NICE TO HAVE: <ul><li>Working knowledge of Houdini.</li><li>Good sketching and drawing skills.</li><li>Remarkable organizational skills, a good mentor for juniors, research oriented &amp; self-driven.</li><li>English language proficiency (spoken &amp; written).</li><li>Experience with version control and bug tracking software.</li><li>Fair knowledge of scripting, tool implementation and deployment. </li></ul>
