3D CAD Designer

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a lead 3D CAD Designer in Toledo, Ohio. This role involves maintaining plant layouts and carrier designs in 3D, integrating supplier drawings, overseeing submissions, and designing carriers and conveyor equipment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of 3D CAD design experience in automotive manufacturing, a deep understanding of conveyor and automotive product carrier design, and experience with 3D point cloud environments.

Must Have

• Lead responsibility for maintaining plant layout and carrier designs in 3D
• Familiarity with Client assembly project standards
• Capable of making accurate field observations and measurements
• Converting information supplied from other vendors into the overall composite plant layout
• Maintain integration of supplier provided 3D drawings into a plant layout
• Utilize scanned point cloud data to identify interferences and safety clearance concerns
• Oversee timely and organized submission of all 3D CAD drawings to Client by suppliers
• Design in 3D carriers and conveyor equipment as required for program review
• Minimum 10 years of 3D CAD design in automotive manufacturing applications
• In-depth understanding of all conveyor and automotive product carrier design
• Demonstrate experience with utilizing 3D point cloud environments in a design workflow

Job Description:

• This position would be the lead responsible for maintaining the plant layout and carrier designs in 3d.
• Familiarity with Client assembly project standards are required.
• This person should be a self-starter and be capable of making accurate field observations, measurements and converting information supplied from other vendors into the overall composite plant layout.

This individual’s responsibilities to include but not be limited to:

• Maintain integration of supplier provided 3d drawings and integrate into a plant layout using scanned point cloud data to identify interferences and safety clearance concerns
• Oversee timely and organized submission of all 3d CAD drawings on the ACC provided to Client by suppliers
• Design in 3d carriers and conveyor equipment as required for program review
• This individual will report to the Client Project Manager

Expected Experience and Skills

• Minimum (10) years of 3d CAD design in automotive manufacturing applications
• Must have an in-depth understanding of all conveyor and automotive product carrier design
• Must demonstrate experience with utilizing 3d point cloud environments in a design workflow
