Job Summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an Industrial Project Engineer for Supplier Recovery. This role involves acting as a primary on-site representative at delinquent supplier locations across North America, stabilizing industrial processes, and executing recovery initiatives to meet Safran’s operational requirements. The engineer will conduct root cause analysis using tools like 8D and Pareto Analysis, develop credible recovery plans, and implement tracking mechanisms for Work in Progress (WIP) visibility. The position requires up to 80% travel.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience working with Aerospace Manufacturing
  • Proven experience in supplier recovery, industrial project management, or manufacturing operations
  • Mastery of industrial engineering tools (Value Stream Mapping, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma)
  • Strong understanding of production processes and backlog recovery strategies
  • Ability to lead complex recovery projects under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence senior leadership at supplier organizations
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% across North America
  • US Person (citizen or permanent resident)

As Industrial Project Engineer you will be responsible for;

  • Acting as primary on-site representative at delinquent supplier locations across North America.
  • Stabilizing industrial processes and restoring production transparency.
  • Executing recovery initiatives to align supplier output with Safran’s operational requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Procurement, NPI, Quality, and Supplier Performance Management
  • Root Cause Analysis & Diagnosis:

Conduct deep-dive assessments using tools such as 8D, Pareto Analysis, and Value Stream Mapping to identify bottlenecks and systemic failures.

  • Recovery Plan Development (“Get Well” Plans):

Negotiate and validate formal recovery plans that are credible, time-bound, and include measurable milestones for backlog reduction.

  • WIP Visibility & Monitoring:

Implement tracking mechanisms to provide real-time visibility into Work in Progress (WIP) and ensure supplier commitments are backed by physical inventory and production evidence

Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working with Aerospace Manufacturing
  • Proven experience in supplier recovery, industrial project management, or manufacturing operations.
  • Mastery of industrial engineering tools (Value Stream Mapping, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).

Salary Range: $150,000 - 175,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
