Discord is seeking a motivated Account Executive to join its Advertising Solutions (Quests) sales team, focusing on the Mobile Gaming vertical. This role involves managing a book of business, building relationships, and contributing revenue within the Mobile Gaming sector. The position offers the opportunity to work in a zero-to-one environment, scaling a new and fast-growing business line. Responsibilities include driving new revenue from clients, identifying user acquisition and marketing goals, building relationships with stakeholders, creating sales presentations, and developing expertise in Discord's mobile gaming solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, mobile gaming vertical expertise, and a deep understanding of the mobile advertising ecosystem.

We are seeking a motivated Account Executive to join our Advertising Solutions (Quests) sales team, focusing on the Mobile Gaming vertical. In this role, you will work in a collaborative environment to help scale the Mobile Gaming business at Discord The role will consist of  managing a book of business, building relationships and contributing revenue from the Mobile Gaming business.

You will be working in a zero to 1 environment to build up and grow a new, and fast-growing business line at Discord.  You will harness your prior experience in advertising/media/marketing spaces and bring a combination of strategic business thinking, industry relationships, product insights, and an ability to build a significant, recurring book of business with clients.

What you'll be doing:

  • Revenue Generation: Drive new revenue across new and existing clients within the mobile gaming vertical.
  • Client Development & Solutions: Identify Mobile Gaming advertisers  user acquisition and marketing goals and support with tailored solutions.
  • Relationship Building: Build initial relationships with stakeholders at Mobile Gaming companies and agencies. 
  • Strategic Planning & Presentations: Participate in account planning processes with senior team mentorship and assist in creating compelling sales presentations utilizing mobile gaming performance data and industry insights.
  • Product Expertise & Industry Knowledge: Develop expertise in Discord's mobile gaming solutions, learn to adapt recommendations for mobile gaming clients, and build knowledge around mobile user acquisition, app monetization, and mobile gaming ecosystem.

What you should have:

  • Sales Background: 4+ years in an Account Executive role activating and managing programmatic business ideally with experience in new market expansion, territory building, or launching new products/services.
  • Mobile Gaming Vertical Expertise: 2+ years working with mobile gaming accounts including mobile game publishers, casual/hypercasual game developers, mobile gaming studios, or mobile app marketing with gaming focus.
  • Mobile Advertising Knowledge: Understanding of mobile advertising ecosystem including app install campaigns, mobile attribution (MMPs), and mobile-specific KPIs such as CPI, LTV, and retention metrics.
  • Relationship & Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with mobile gaming clients, plus excellent presentation skills for mobile campaign performance.
  • Analytical & Technical Capabilities: Strong analytical skills for mobile campaign data interpretation and familiarity with mobile marketing and attribution technology with eagerness to deepen mobile gaming expertise.
  • Problem-Solving & Teamwork: Proactive problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn mobile gaming-specific escalation procedures and collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
  • Additional Requirements: Passion for mobile gaming industry and user acquisition landscape, willingness to travel 15-25% of time for mobile gaming conferences (MAU Vegas, Pocket Gamer Connects), and bachelor's degree preferred.

Ideal background includes:

  • Experience with mobile gaming companies across hypercasual, casual, mid-core, or hardcore mobile gaming categories.
  • Background in mobile user acquisition, app marketing, or mobile gaming business development.
  • Familiarity with mobile gaming conferences and industry events.

This position is US-based only. We are seeking candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties) or greater Los Angeles area (LA, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura), or who are willing to relocate to the SF or LA Areas. Relocation assistance may be available.

The US on target earnings for this full-time position is $200,000 to $225,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
