This role involves managing and expanding the customer base for Akapp-Stemmann movable power supply systems in the southern DACH region. You will be the trusted contact person for customers, acquire new clients, negotiate contracts, participate in trade fairs, and contribute to sales strategy. The position offers a challenging and varied international environment with a comprehensive onboarding program and long-term growth opportunities within a stable company.
Must have:
  • Maintain and expand existing customer base (OEMs & end customers) in sectors like crane construction, intralogistics, paper/concrete factories, building facades, and agricultural automation.
  • Develop new business opportunities and actively acquire new customers.
  • Project/contract negotiations in coordination with legal and sales management.
  • Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Crane/Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Sales experience in electrotechnical components/systems, preferably in crane/mechanical engineering.
  • Willingness to travel to customers in the region and to the plant in Ede, Netherlands.
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills.

Area Sales Manager DACH-South (m/f/d) – electrical movable power supply systems

Under the brand name "Akapp-Stemmann", Wabtec Netherlands develops, produces and sells movable power supply systems such as busbar systems, spring cable reels and festoon systems. These powerful systems are of great importance for driving movable machines and are used in various market segments, such as crane construction, intralogistics (warehouse automation), paper/concrete factories, building facades and automation in agriculture (www.akapp.com).

The Wabtec Netherlands organization is part of Wabtec Corporation, within which we operate worldwide in the Focus Business Group CPT (Charging & Power Transfer). The engineering and production of the "Akapp-Stemmann" systems takes place at our location in the Netherlands (Ede).

For our "Akapp-Stemmann" activities in the southern DACH region, we are looking for an Area Sales Manager immediately.

Who will you work with?

As an Area Sales Manager, you will work closely with the "Akapp-Stemmann" sales team of Wabtec Netherlands, with other field staff and various colleagues in inside sales for order and offer processing. In this role, you will report to the Sales & Marketing Manager of Akapp-Stemmann.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for supporting customers in the Southern DACH region:

  • Maintenance and expansion of the existing customer base (OEMs & end customers) in various sectors such as crane construction, intralogistics (warehouse automation), paper/concrete factories, building facades and automation in agriculture.
  • Development of new business opportunities and active new customer acquisition to expand the existing customer portfolio.
  • Project/contract negotiations in coordination with the legal department and sales management.
  • Participation in relevant trade fairs.
  • Contribution to the alignment and definition of the sales strategy.
  • Regular reporting to the sales manager and close cooperation with inside sales and engineering colleagues.

Your Profile

  • Technical education in electrical engineering, crane/mechanical engineering or comparable.
  • Sales experience in electrotechnical components/systems, preferably in crane/mechanical engineering.
  • High self-motivation as well as an independent and goal-oriented way of working, coupled with teamwork ability.
  • Strong communication skills and persuasiveness in discussions with customers.
  • Willingness to travel to customers in the region (and to our plant in Ede, (Netherlands)).
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills.
