The Accountant will be a key member of the Accounting & Finance team, contributing significantly to the accounting and reconciliation of Treasury, Debt, and Adjacent Services operations. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries in NetSuite, reconciling property settlement statements, investigating discrepancies, preparing month-end balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with financial statement preparation and audits. The role also involves identifying and implementing process improvements through automation to support the company’s growing business operations.

Must have:

Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of accounting experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills

Good to have:

Real estate accounting experience
NetSuite or other ERP experience
Licensed CPA or CPA candidate
Basic understanding of SQL

Job Details

Location

Hybrid roles require role responsibilities to be performed in the office at least 3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday & Thursday.

What You’ll Need

Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of accounting experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Desire to work in a fast growing, exciting and agile business

Ability to work in a collaborative environment, including with teammates in other locations

Ability to meet deadlines, independently manage time and is self-motivated

About the Role

We’re seeking an exceptional Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. This role will be a significant contributor to the accounting and reconciliation of our Treasury, Debt, and Adjacent Services operations.

What You’ll Do

Prepare journal entries for our Treasury, Debt, and Adjacent Services operations in NetSuite
Reconcile property settlement statements to cash paid or received
Investigate and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with title agencies
Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules and fluctuation analyses
Prepare journal entries for cash transactions and reconcile cash to bank statements
Assist with Opendoor's financial statement preparation and financial statement audit
Identify and implement process improvements through automation to support the company’s growing business operations

Bonus points if you have

Real estate accounting experience
NetSuite or other ERP experience
Licensed CPA or CPA candidate
Basic understanding of SQL
