The Accounts Receivable (AR) Team Lead is responsible for overseeing regional collections, optimizing AR processes, and leading a high-performing team to ensure timely cash flow and minimize risk. This role involves managing daily AR operations, including high-volume customer accounts and open receivables, reconciling accounts, and resolving disputes. The Team Lead will also prepare cash flow and risk forecasts, evaluate AR reserves, and implement strategies to reduce bad debt. Collaboration with global cash application activities and participation in cross-functional projects for process and system improvements are key aspects of this position.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of AR processes, cash application, collections strategy, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, HighRadius).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset.

Job Details

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Team Lead plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the company by overseeing regional collections, optimizing AR processes, and fostering a high-performing team culture. This role ensures timely cash flow, minimizes risk, and contributes to overall departmental and company goals through leadership, process enhancement, and data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Do:

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Supervise and mentor a team of Accounts Receivable Specialists, including training, workload management, and performance evaluations.

    • Provide ongoing development opportunities to enhance team skills and efficiency.

    • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment aligned with organizational goals.

  • Operations Management

    • Efficiently manage daily AR operations, including high-volume customer accounts and open receivables.

    • Oversee the reconciliation of customer accounts and lead the resolution of disputes or escalations.

    • Ensure the application of AR best practices to improve cash flow and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).

  • Cash Flow & Risk Oversight

    • Prepare and present cash flow and risk forecasts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

    • Evaluate AR reserves regularly and recommend adjustments based on risk and portfolio health.

    • Implement strategies to minimize bad debt exposure while maintaining positive customer relationships.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Provide support for global cash application activities and ensure alignment across regional teams.

    • Participate in cross-functional and ad-hoc projects related to AR, process improvement, and system enhancements.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of AR processes, cash application, collections strategy, and risk management.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, and HighRadius preferred).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive action.
