Job Description

As a Business Development Representative at Mimecast, you will collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams to prospect and generate high-quality leads across various industries. Your primary goal will be to schedule meetings for sales representatives, contributing significantly to closing deals. This role is crucial for generating business and offers a clear path for career progression within Mimecast, allowing you to develop key professional skills and strategies.
Must have:
  • Work hand in hand with Marketing & Sales teams to prospect and generate high quality leads
  • Schedule meetings for your sales reps
  • Screen and qualify potential business through cold calling, emails & LinkedIn
  • Monitor online forums to answer any customer queries
  • Identify and overcome objections whilst addressing business pain points through high activity
  • Effective use of Salesforce and various in-house tools to manage leads and data
  • Ability to ‘think outside the square’ and generate your own leads
  • Speak directly with end customers/prospects and articulate the benefits of the Mimecast platform
  • Attend marketing events (road shows, conferences) to build meaningful relationships and scope potential opportunities
  • Possess previous customer service experience
  • Demonstrate accountability to get the job done and work as part of a team
  • Have great rapport building & communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Show a drive and determination to succeed with a resilient nature
  • Possess excellent phone skills and be able to drive the conversation to the desired outcomes
  • Ability to multi task
  • Interest in Cyber Security/IT

What You'll Do

This exciting role requires you to work hand in hand with the Marketing & Sales teams to prospect and generate high quality leads across various industries, with a goal to schedule meetings for your sales reps and help contribute to the close of business. As a Business Development Representative (BDR) you will have an amazing opportunity to be part of the 'engine room' for generating business for the entire sales team. You will work with multiple departments to set up the sales team for success while playing a key role in developing success for Mimecast in the region. Success within the BDR team will give you the opportunity to progress into a great career in the many internal roles you will come into contact with throughout your journey with us. As well as learn key strategies and skills to set up your professional career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and taking queries from potential clients with the overall goal of generating & maturing leads to be passed off to your sales partner
  • Screening and qualifying potential business through cold calling, emails & LinkedIn
  • Monitoring online forums to answer any customer queries
  • Identifying and overcoming objections whilst addressing business pain points through high activity
  • Effective use of Salesforce and various in-house tools to manage your leads and data
  • Ability to ‘think outside the square’ and generate your own leads

What You'll Need

The ideal candidate has previous sales cold calling, customer service experience, accountability and resilient in nature! This candidate has excellent communication skills, ability to multi task and an interest in Cyber Security/IT!

The OTE salary range for this position is $95,000 - $107,000+ benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for incentive plans and other related benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered
