The Client System Electrical Architecture team at Intel's Client Computing Group is seeking an Analog Platform Electrical Architect. This role involves performing system electrical analysis (SI/PI), analyzing validation/simulation results to influence next-gen Silicon, Package, and DRAM industry standards. Responsibilities include creating and developing Signal Integrity validation methods, performing Si and platform debug, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex issues and improve efficiency for competitive client products.
Must have:
  • Perform system electrical analysis SI/PI and analyzing validation/Simulation results to influence next-gen Silicon, Package, socket, System form factor, and DRAM industry.
  • Create, define and develop Signal Integrity validation methods, environments and test content.
  • Use and apply platform level tools and techniques to ensure performance to specifications, and optimize and characterize the platform electrical.
  • Perform Si and platform debug to root-cause issues and enable robust design fixes.
  • Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with architecture design and pre-silicon validation teams.
  • Be able to demonstrate success in communicating plans status issues and concerns.
  • Test planning execution monitoring and reporting test results.
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams – Silicon, Simulation, HW and MRC teams to solve complex issues and improve efficiency.
  • Frontline and drive schedules and issues to closure in high complex scenarios.
  • Help define solutions for customer issues.
  • Be able to make judgment calls regarding customer deliverables and program level risk assessment from a Signal Integrity and performance standpoint.
  • Minimum Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Systems validation and/or Platform validation experience.
  • Debug experience at platform level.
  • Coded/Debugged/Troubleshooted firmware.
  • PCB design tools including Allegro Mentor PCB and exposure to UNIX.
  • Electrical electromagnetic fundamentals.
  • Signal Integrity & Power Integrity fundamentals.
  • System board design and process.
Good to have:
  • Experience with 3D/2.5D simulation tools like Ansys HFSS/Q3D, Keysight-ADS, Synopsis - HSpice, Cadence - PowerSI.

Client Computing Group CCG designs and develops Intel's next-generation platforms catering to all segments in Mobile Computing. The Client System Electrical Architecture team within CCG that focuses on developing platform electrical collateral, Silicon / Platform physical architecture influence, Innovation, JEDEC / DRAM /PCIe/USB/VESA Industry drive, Tools / methodology definition/influence and physical architecture correlation / design verification.

As a member of our Client Memory Subsystem Team you will:

  • Perform system electrical analysis SI/PI and analyzing validation/Simulation results to influence next-gen Silicon, Package, socket, System form factor, and DRAM industry to make Client products competitive.
  • Perform Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulations and timing analysis and correlating simulations with system measurements.
  • Create, define and develop Signal Integrity validation methods, environments and test content
  • Use and apply platform level tools and techniques to ensure performance to specifications, and optimize and characterize the platform electrical.
  • Perform Si and platform debug to root-cause issues and enable robust design fixes
  • Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with architecture design and pre-silicon validation teams in improving post-silicon test content and providing feedback for future on die & platform debug features optimization.
  • Be able to demonstrate success in communicating plans status issues and concerns.
  • Test planning execution monitoring and reporting test results.
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams – Silicon, Simulation, HW and MRC teams to solve complex issues and improve efficiency.
  • Frontline and drive schedules and issues to closure in high complex scenarios.
  • Help define solutions for customer issues.
  • Be able to make judgment calls regarding customer deliverables and program level risk assessment from a Signal Integrity and performance standpoint.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience

The experience must include the below:

  • Systems validation and/or Platform validation experience.
  • Debug experience at platform level.
  • Coded/Debugged/Troubleshooted firmware.
  • PCB design tools including Allegro Mentor PCB and exposure to UNIX.
  • Electrical electromagnetic fundamentals.
  • Signal Integrity & Power Integrity fundamentals.
  • System board design and process.
