Position Summary

An Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounting Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing both the accounts payable function and general accounting activities at Scientific Games (SG or the Company). The individual in this position will be primarily responsible for supervising AP Staff located in India (Shared Services) and performing routine monthly, quarterly, and yearly general accounting functions for SG. The accounting tasks may include reviewing, approving, preparing, maintaining, and reconciling assigned accounts in accordance with the framework and guidance of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 

Accounts Payable Oversight:

  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing accounts payable and other assigned accounting staff.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expenses.
  • Managing vendor relationships and resolving discrepancies.
  • Overseeing 1099 reporting and compliance.
  • Reviewing KPI’s to assess the performance of the AP team and holding them accountable for implementing and maintaining AP policies and procedures.
  • Evaluating team performance and providing feedback.
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to invoices, payments, or other financial discrepancies.
  • Looking for opportunities to improve processes and implement efficiencies.

General Accounting Oversight:

  • Assisting with the operations of the accounting department.
  • Reviewing daily transactions, including accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
  • Participating in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Perform monthly financial close activities; journal entry preparation, monthly accruals, Blackline account reconciliations and account analysis as required for the US Lottery System SG&A group and R&D departments
  • Assist with audit requests/assignments and SOX controls in Blackline (e.g., External, Internal, SOX, etc.).
  • Work with Oracle IT to implement process improvements to drive efficiencies in current processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IRS).
  • Contributing to budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; 5-7 years of experience
  • Proficiency with accounting software Oracle would be highly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate a team.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a Shared Services environment, preferred.
