Job Description
This Application Engineer role focuses on supply chain logistics, requiring expertise in Java and web application development. Responsibilities encompass the entire application lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance for both internal and customer-facing applications. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, leveraging UI and functional specifications to deliver solutions. The engineer will design, build, and deploy internal applications supporting Google's technology lifecycle, collaboration, service delivery, and data/business intelligence. They will also integrate systems with internal and third-party logistics providers, automating Alphabet's supply chain. Strong problem-solving, communication, and people management skills are essential.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience working with Java.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related technical field.
- Experience implementing, customizing and integrating third-party applications within, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, or similar industries.
- Ability to participate in multiple full system implementation life cycles (i.e., analyze, design, build, test, implement, support).
- Excellent people management, communication, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities
- Write modular, well-structured, and self-sustaining codes, and develop overall systems design, research, and evaluate vendor supplied applications, and develop recommendations on those applications.
- Help design, build, and deploy internal business applications to support Google’s technology life cycle, collaboration and spaces, service delivery management, and data and business intelligence.
- Conduct and oversee testing of application modules to ensure application meets specifications and collaborate with analysts and business process owners within one or more teams to help translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, develop and run systems that automate Alphabet’s supply chain.
- Integrate our systems with Alphabet’s internal systems and third-party logistics providers outside of Alphabet.
