Job Description

Incorez Applications is seeking an Apprentice to join their laboratory team. The role involves providing hands-on support to customer projects, collaborating with the Applications department, and assisting in training programs for distributors and customers. Key responsibilities include developing guide formulations using current products, preparing liquid samples for clients, and maintaining lab cleanliness and safety. The apprentice will work closely with the Applications team in a global R&D center in Preston, focusing on application testing, execution, and data interpretation as part of cross-functional teams. This position offers valuable industrial and practical experience, aiding in career path decisions after university.
Must have:
  • Provide hands-on laboratory support

About Incorez Applications

Incorez Ltd is a leading manufacturer of specialist resins and polymers - excelling in the development of high performance, low hazard materials, particularly waterborne and high solids systems.

Incorez is also a global leader in oxazolidine chemistry, manufacturing a diverse range of products marketed under the Incozol® umbrella. The Incozol® range has been widely adopted in polyurethane coatings, as well as PU sealants. In addition, the company is a global partner in waterborne, low hazard technology, manufacturing a wide range of waterborne PU dispersions and a range of waterborne epoxy curing agents. These materials, marketed under the Incorez® brand, are used extensively in high performance coatings across a broad spectrum of applications.

The applications team is an integral part of Incorez Sales team and support the business by working on different customers project to grow the business.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting to Applications Manager, To ensure that the Applications department delivers projects on time and fit for purpose, as defined by the annual business plan, to ensure the future growth of the business.

Reporting to the Applications Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that the Applications department delivers projects on time and fit for purpose, as defined by the annual business plan, to support the future growth of the business. We are seeking a motivated team member to join our laboratory, providing hands-on support to ensure the successful completion of diverse customer projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Applications department, assisting in training programs for our global network of distributors and customers. Key responsibilities include developing guide formulations using our current product range and preparing high-quality liquid samples tailored to client needs. You will actively contribute to maintaining and enhancing lab cleanliness, fostering a safe and organized work environment.

The Support:

By working in global R&D centre in Preston and working closely with Applications team focusing on the key customer projects. The role is predominantly focused on application testing, execution and data interpretation. The student will work as a part of cross functional teams towards a common goal.

The Skills:

You will be an integral part of Applications and Sales team and will provide hand on laboratory support to complete the relevant applications department projects. Applications Manager will be your direct line Manager, but mentorship and supervision will come from across Applications team at different stages throughout the placement.
