The role involves planning, designing, and programming various applications, developing user-friendly interfaces, and working with modern software environments. Must have:
  • At least Mittlere Reife (intermediate secondary school certificate) or a comparable qualification
  • Enthusiasm for all areas of computer science and curiosity to discover more
  • Familiarity with a programming language and ability to apply it
  • Careful work ethic and enjoyment of learning
  • Great interest in computer science and mathematics
  • Very good German language skills (spoken and written)
  • Good English language skills (spoken and written)

We are one of the leading publishers of free-to-play online games based in Karlsruhe.

Are you curious and eager to learn, enjoy programming, and have already created your first small scripts? Then you've come to the right place!

Gameforge offers you an apprenticeship as an IT specialist* for application development and will accompany you through all areas of game development. Among other things, you will learn how to program software solutions and ensure the quality of software applications.

The apprenticeship lasts three years, takes place at our location in Karlsruhe, and is supplemented by the Heinrich-Hertz-Schule as a vocational school.

Your Mission

  • You plan, design, and program various programs and applications
  • You develop application-appropriate and user-friendly interfaces
  • You work with different programming concepts
  • You get to know a modern software environment with various systems, tools, and databases
  • You can shorten your apprenticeship depending on your prior knowledge and grade point average
  • You will work on many exciting projects during your apprenticeship and learn in theory and practice what it takes to be a software developer*
  • You can actively shape your apprenticeship by contributing your ideas and suggestions

Your Skillset

  • You have at least a Mittlere Reife (intermediate secondary school certificate) or a comparable qualification

  • You are already familiar with a programming language and can apply it
  • You work carefully and enjoy learning
