Job Purpose:
As the Area Marketing Director for the South East Asia & Taiwan (SEAT) Business Unit, you will be responsible for leading the marketing strategies and initiatives of Haleon to deliver net sales, profit, and consumption targets across our brand portfolio. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive marketing plans to increase brand awareness and drive consumer engagement. You will lead the team on innovation planning, execution and working closely with global category brand teams, region and local markets. The role oversees the SEAT Area Marketing team and sets the Marketing vision and capability plan for SEAT. You will also be responsible for the marketing budget and ensuring that all marketing activities are aligned with the organization’s goals and compliance standards within the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Work closely with the global category teams to provide SEAT local market insights to shape global brand planning, campaigns and innovation pipelines.
- Adapt the global Marketing strategy for SEAT local market insights and ensure successful execution with local teams across all priority brands.
- Analyse market trends and consumer needs to inform strategic decisions.
- Lead & drive planning, innovation pipeline rollout and tracking of execution to deliver incremental market share.
Brand Management:
- Drive demand power for SEAT priority brands to ensure long term brand health and consumption gains.
- Partner with global category teams to develop relevant assets for SEAT markets and develop local activations that build our brands with consumers, experts, and shoppers.
- Oversee brand strategy to ensure consistency and strength across all platforms and channels.
- Manage the organization’s brand image in the marketplace.
- Contribute to global brand identity, brand heart and visual brand language of the brand.
- Drive adoption of best practices across SEAT business unit.
Media and Digital Marketing:
- Drive Media Effectiveness across SEAT region, ensuring optimal investment to achieve consumption goals.
- Drive SEAT digital marketing growth ahead of category with right organizational structure, capability build for team and agency partnerships.
- Ensure digital marketing strategies effectively engage and convert target audiences.
Market Research:
- Manage the Consumer Insights and Analytics team to develop a learning plan for SEAT which identifies future growth opportunities and effectively tracks current performance.
- Monitor competitive activities and industry trends and utilize for competitive advantage.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing initiatives.
- Use data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and optimize strategies.
Team Leadership:
- Manage a large marketing team, including training and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and oversee the marketing budget.
- Ensure cost-effective allocation of resources to achieve marketing objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, locally, regionally and globally, to ensure integrated marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including third party marketing, digital and healthcare providers.
Skills & Experience required to be successful in the role:
- At least 15 years’ marketing experience in FMCG/Consumer Healthcare, with > 4 years at a management level.
- Masters/Degree in Marketing or a degree in a Marketing related field.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with experience of leading sizable diverse teams, both direct reports and matrix teams.
- Has initiated and/or implemented complex change initiatives.
- Has built and delivered strong marketing strategies and plans in the region (Asia/SEA preferred) with a track record of building brands and launching successful innovation.
- Ability to manage high complexity across diverse markets and commercially savvy.
- Experience working in a global setup and matrix organization, with the capability to navigate the organization locally, regionally and globally to build trust, influence and seek support.
- Strategically strong on solving problems, choosing the right priorities and effectively deploying resources against these.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong self-awareness with ability to coach, mentor and manage others. A real visible leader in the commercial business with a strong voice.
- Passionate about helping people do more, feel better and live longer.
- Digital fluency & Data Driven Marketing: comfortable navigating digital marketing tools, understanding consumer data analytics and integrating that into regional strategies.
