Job Summary
The Army Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) will support the ADA Commandant’s Office at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This senior advisor role involves coordinating, synchronizing, and harmonizing efforts across the Army AMD enterprise, including the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Joint Staff, and Office of the Secretary of Defense. Responsibilities include advising on AMD requirements, programming, acquisition, doctrine development, force sourcing, posture decisions, and executing the Army AMD Campaign Plan. The role demands extensive knowledge of AMD operations, interagency coordination, and Army strategic planning processes.
Must Have
- Provide AMD expertise to ADA Commandant.

- Active Secret clearance.
- Experience coordinating across Army, Joint, DoD.
- Record of supporting strategic planning/doctrine.
- Understanding of Army AMD systems.
- Familiarity with Army force development processes.

The Contractor will provide direct support to the Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Commandant’s Office at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This position serves as a senior advisor and integrator, responsible for coordinating, synchronizing, and harmonizing efforts across the Army AMD enterprise, including the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and other relevant stakeholders.
The contractor will advise on and facilitate actions related to Army AMD requirements, programming, and acquisition, as well as doctrine development, force sourcing, posture decisions, and the execution of the Army AMD Campaign Plan. The role requires extensive knowledge of air and missile defense operations, interagency coordination, and Army strategic planning processes.
As a Army Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Provide subject matter expertise to the ADA Commandant on AMD systems, force structure, and capability development.
- Coordinate and synchronize Army AMD initiatives across key stakeholders, including MDA, Joint Staff, OSD, and Army commands.
- Support the alignment of AMD efforts with Army modernization priorities and Joint warfighting concepts.
- Advise on the development and validation of Army AMD requirements and capabilities.
- Support programming and acquisition planning processes related to AMD systems, ensuring alignment with operational needs and strategic guidance.
- Coordinate with Army Transformation and Training Command, PEO Missiles and Space, and Transformation and Lessons Learned Managers on AMD-related initiatives.
- Review and provide input on acquisition strategies, requirements documents, and capability assessments.
- Assist in the development and refinement of Army AMD doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
- Support the execution and periodic review of the Army AMD Campaign Plan, ensuring goals, objectives, and tasks remain synchronized with higher-level directives.
- Collaborate with doctrine developers, training commands, and operational units to ensure AMD concepts are integrated into the institutional Army.
- Represent the ADA Commandant’s interests in AMD forums, working groups, and strategic planning sessions.
- Coordinate with Joint and Army headquarters to support AMD posture decisions, force management, and capability alignment.
- Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and strategic assessments for senior Army and DoD leadership.
- Ensure AMD training and education programs reflect current doctrine, operational requirements, and emerging technologies.
- Provide recommendations to improve AMD operational readiness, integration, and modernization efforts.

Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in Military Science, National Security, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Air and Missile Defense, Air Defense Artillery, or Joint operational planning.
- Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret/SCI eligibility preferred.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating across Army, Joint, and DoD organizations.
- Proven record of supporting strategic planning, doctrine development, or capability integration at the Army or Joint level.
- Comprehensive understanding of Army AMD systems (e.g., Patriot, IBCS, THAAD, IFPC).
- Familiarity with Army force development processes (requirements, programming, and acquisition).
- Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills; capable of engaging senior-level leaders and technical experts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and defense staff coordination tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior decision-makers.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities and emerging operational requirements.
