Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Technical - Media Solutions will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting front-end client systems in complex Broadcast IT setups. The role involves diagnosing and addressing problems, maintaining customer relationships, and providing technical support in time-sensitive environments. The engineer must quickly analyze issues, communicate with customers and senior team members, and update system details regularly. Responsibilities also include receiving support calls, resolving or escalating issues, and submitting technical call sheets and expense reports. The candidate should have a strong technical skillset and be a good communicator.
Must have:
  • Knowledge of Networking, IT Servers, Storages, & Troubleshooting
  • Experience managing on-premises servers and storage devices
  • Good command over Operating Systems (Windows & Linux)
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Broadcast IT administration knowledge & Broadcast workflow knowledge
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Avid Products and Avid Broadcast workflow

Job Details

The ideal applicant for this position should have strong technical skills, be good communicator, and pay close attention to detail. The field engineer should diagnose and address problems, also maintain customer relationships.
Field Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Prime responsibility of Engineer will be to install / configure / troubleshoot and support front end client systems in complex Broadcast IT setups.
  • Work independently on client systems with guidance from superiors, must be capable to quickly analyse reported issue and act promptly for quick resolution or escalate to superiors.
  • Receive support calls from customers, capture complete information about the issue and work to resolve or escalate to senior members.
  • Must be committed to deliver technical support within time-sensitive environments for live TV broadcast sites and time critical applications, the engineer should quickly troubleshoot and diagnose issue over phone / remote / onsite / email for the systems presented to him.
  • Must clearly communicate about the issue with customer and senior team members, regularly update complete details and developments of the case.
  • Periodically update detail of systems and software installed at customer sites in the region.
  • File and submit periodical tech call sheets, case status, expenses to reporting officer.
Skills required:
  • Knowledge about Networking, IT Servers, Storages & Troubleshooting is required.
  • 3 to 8 years work experience is required
  • Experience managing on-premises servers, storage area networks (SAN), and network-attached storage (NAS) devices
  • Good command over Operating Systems (Windows & Linux)
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Broadcast IT administration knowledge & Broadcast workflow knowledge 
  • Knowledge of Avid Products and Avid Broadcast workflow is added advantage
