Job Description

We are looking for a people-first Associate Engineering Manager to lead one of our core development teams for TestComplete. This is not a hands-on coding position, but it does require a strong understanding of software development principles and the ability to engage confidently with engineers, architects, and product owners. You’ll manage a cross-functional team across Poland and India, drive delivery of high-impact features and modernization efforts, and foster a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement. You’ll be accountable for execution, team performance, and people development — balancing short-term product milestones with long-term architectural evolution.
Must have:
  • Direct a talented team of engineers in crafting innovative solutions that enhance TestComplete's features and user experience.
  • Foster a culture that prioritizes excellence and innovation, positioning TestComplete at the forefront of the rapid test automation arena.
  • Utilize a technology stack anchored in C++ and Delphi, guiding the strategic shift towards C# to deliver exceptional software solutions.
  • Lead and support a cross-site engineering team (Wrocław + Bangalore), ensuring clarity, focus, and alignment around goals.
  • Collaborate with product and QA leaders to deliver features and enhancements in line with customer and business needs.
  • Manage team performance, career development, and retention by providing continuous feedback, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
  • Create a healthy, inclusive engineering culture that prioritizes code quality, ownership, and iterative delivery.
  • Guide the team through architectural and technical transitions in coordination with senior engineers and architects.
  • Improve processes, delivery cadence, and cross-functional communication using agile best practices.
  • Participate in hiring and scaling the team in alignment with strategic growth plans.

About the role:

We are looking for you if you have:

  • 8+ years of experience in software development organizations, with at least 2–3 years in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams, manage performance, and deliver results through others.
  • Experience working on or managing desktop application teams is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with compiled languages and large-scale codebases (e.g., C++, Delphi, C#, Java) is a strong asset — even if you’re not coding hands-on.
  • Strong understanding of agile principles, CI/CD pipelines, and team scaling practices.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English (B2 or higher); experience working in a global organization is a plus.
