Job Description

The Associate Localization Producer is responsible for the upkeep of live operations products and the production of package products. This role involves maintaining game title records, monitoring fan feedback, and ensuring information accuracy. Key duties include acting as a liaison between Japanese stakeholders and the GOEA production team, managing product updates, coordinating marketing efforts, and ensuring high-quality localization of game content, including text, audio, and visuals, for the target audience. The producer also works with LQA teams to resolve issues and provides feedback on marketing materials.
Must have:
  • Work as a liaison between Japanese stakeholders and GOEA production team.
  • Monitor product updates and maintenances.
  • Request information for social media and marketing efforts.
  • Share fan feedback with Japanese development teams.
  • Accurately translate informational material from written Japanese to English and vice versa.
  • Serve as a point of contact between development team, production team, and localization vendors.
  • Provide game assets to promote the game.
  • Obtain clearance for use of assets for PR usage from IP holders.
  • Generate ideas on how to utilize available assets to promote the game.
  • Work with Community Management to coordinate post-launch content development.
  • Establish and communicate KPI targets.
  • Grasp on the game project’s contract and coordinate with finance.
  • Assist working with legal counsel, executives, external developers/vendors on contract negotiation and drafting.
  • Work with translation, voice-over, and production teams to ensure game's text, audio, and visuals are high-quality.
  • Create localization documentation to be shared both internally and externally.
  • Ensure game's content is appropriate for the target market.
  • Serve as an internal resource for game’s localization and terminology.
  • Check that the localized game functions correctly and work with LQA teams.
  • Provide feedback on marketing material.
  • Check accuracy of in-game messaging.
  • Check accuracy of messaging on all official channels.
  • Ensure correct timings of messages, announcements, and reveals.
  • Manage and mentor junior members when assigned.
  • Ensure company goals are communicated to reports.
  • Handle timesheets and other supervisory tasks when assigned.

Position Summary:

Associate Localization Producer position is responsible for the upkeep of a live operations product and the production period of a package product. Job duties also include maintaining records of a game title, checking for fan feedback, and ensuring the accuracy of the information handled.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work as a liaison between the Japanese stakeholders (rights holders, development teams, etc.) and GOEA production team for a title.
  • Responsible for monitoring product updates and maintenances.
  • Request information required for social media and marketing efforts.
  • Share fan feedback with Japanese development teams.
  • Accurately translate informational material from written Japanese to English and vice versa.
  • Serve as a point of contact between the development team, production team, and localization vendors.
  • Provides game assets to promote the game (screenshots, art, video capture)
  • Obtains clearance for use of assets for PR usage from the IP holders of the developed title
  • Generates ideas on how to utilize available assets to promote the game via events/tradeshows
  • Work with Community Management to coordinate post-launch content development.
  • Establish and communicate KPI targets
  • Has a grasp on the game project’s contract and coordinates with finance (for making payments post-milestones, receiving payments post-launch from platforms).
  • Assist working with legal counsel, executives, external developers/vendors on contract negotiation and drafting, and monitor milestone tracking and payment schedules upon contract execution.
  • Work with translation, voice-over, and production teams to ensure the game's text, audio, and visuals are high-quality and suitable for the target audience.
  • Create localization documentation to be shared both internally and externally, ensuring consistent quality.
  • Ensure that the game's content, including humor, references, and cultural elements, is appropriate for the target market.
  • Serve as an internal resource for the game’s localization and terminology that can be consulted by other departments.
  • Check that the localized game functions correctly, and work with LQA teams to ensure that any issues are resolved.
  • Provide feedback on marketing material.
  • Check accuracy of in-game messaging.
  • Check accuracy of messaging on all official channels.
  • Ensure correct timings of messages, announcements, and reveals.
  • Manage and mentor junior members when assigned.
  • Ensure that company goals are communicated to reports.
  • Handle timesheets and other supervisory tasks when assigned.

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Must be business level in English and Japanese (both written and verbal).
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • Between two year to four years of localization experience in the same or similar position preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible to work overtime.
  • Willing to travel for business as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of generating results in a data-driven environment is plus.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills are plus.
