The JIRA/Atlassian Administrator will manage and maintain Morningstar’s JIRA and Confluence environment. Responsibilities include managing and supporting Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, developing and maintaining JQL for custom JIRA processes, and following guides to improve platform scalability and performance. The role requires working closely with user groups to resolve problems, deploy new products, and provide support. The administrator will also assist with managing Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, and other employee tools, and participate in an on-call rotation. The work environment is hybrid, requiring in-person collaboration at least three days a week. This position requires proficient technical skills around the Linux and Windows operating system.
Must have:
  • Experience managing Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence)
  • Experience developing and maintaining JQL
  • 3+ years of System Administration experience
  • Knowledge of networking, DNS, Exchange, Active Directory
  • Exceptional communication skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with Office 365 Administration
  • Experience with Active Directory and Domain Administration
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Monitoring agents

Job Details

The JIRA/Atlassian Administrator’s primary role is to manage and maintain Morningstar’s JIRA and Confluence environment.
While this position will focus primarily on JIRA and Confluence, it may also include work with Active Directory and Office 365 hosted applications such as Exchange Online. The Administrator will be expected to be ‘hands on’ with the systems and individual tasks in support of the applications and the servers/infrastructure on which they reside. Candidates must possess proficient technical skills around the Linux and Windows operating system.  The full-time position is a day shift, with being on-call as an escalation contact.

Responsibilities
• Management and support of Atlassian JIRA and Confluence as an administrator.
• Development and maintenance of JQL for custom JIRA processes.
• Proficient technical skills around the Linux and Windows operating system.
• Follow guides to implement best practices, develop efficiencies, and improve platform scalability and performance.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and major responsibility.
• Work closely with user groups to resolve problems, deploy and release new products and create solutions to provide world class service, solutions and support.
• Assist as needed with the management and support of Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business, Office 365 platform and several other employee tools.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience managing Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence) as an administrator is required.
• Experience developing and maintaining JQL
• 3 years or more of System Administration experience.
• Experience with Office 365 Administration is a plus.
• Experience with Active Directory and Domain Administration is preferred.
• Knowledge of networking, DNS, Exchange, Active Directory is required.
• Knowledge and experience of working with Monitoring agents and systems.
• Exceptional customer service, organization, interpersonal, time-management and written and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of self-motivation.
• The ability to adapt quickly to new tasks.
• The ability to learn custom applications, support, and troubleshoot.
• Experience with virtual machines (Windows Server, Red Hat, Centos).
