Our team is expanding, and we're in search of a skilled Backend Engineer to enhance the development and functionality of our games and software products. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable and robust backend services, APIs, and database structures to support web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and product managers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring security and data protection.
- Manage hosting environments, including database administration and scaling applications to support load changes.
- Develop data storage solutions, choosing the appropriate database technology for the system requirements.
- Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests, contributing to continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Monitor, identify, and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues within the backend infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to operations and activities where beneficial.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, JavaScript (Node.js).
- Experience with server-side frameworks and technologies.
- Strong understanding of database technologies, both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and development practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience deploying scalable applications in a cloud environment.
- Understanding of security practices, including encryption, authentication, and authorization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in backend development roles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage high-traffic backend services.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing API services.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Portfolio of projects or contributions to open-source projects is highly desirable.
