This role is responsible for managing Ookla’s billing operations, ensuring customers are billed accurately and on time, while collaborating with accounting to ensure revenue recognition is aligned with invoice generation. Core responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Invoicing: Issue and send invoices ensuring they align with contract and revenue recognition requirements.
Ensuring invoices generated electronically (using Oracle Fusion) and presented via email or uploaded into customer procurement tool/portal.
Monitoring invoice status tracking and updating for all submitted via procurement/portal.
Review and ensure any required POs are received prior to invoicing and any issues communicated with sales team.
Review and accurate invoicing of applicable Sales tax, VAT, and withholding tax
Communication: Correspond with clients and sales team, answer customer emails, and resolve all invoicing questions and concerns
Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure sales and orders are billed accurately and timely such as accounting, sales, and Accounts receivable
Process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the billing process and suggest efficiencies
Reporting/Audit: Ability to prepare and present ad hoc reporting requests and assist with audit support as requested
Requirements Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a billing analyst or similar accounting role with complex invoicing. (Many of the invoices are multi year contracts requiring multiple invoices throughout contract term to be presented.)
Experience with electronic billing
Microsoft Excel or Google sheets is required for this role.
Experience in contract review and understanding as it relates to invoicing, specific to contract terms and tax implications. Experience with International customers preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Good organizational and time-management skills to work both independently and as a team to meet deadlines, especially during month end
Must have close attention to detail to ensure accuracy
Customer relation management system (Salesforce preferred) and accounting ERP system (Oracle Fusion preferred) integration experience is a plus

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Ookla provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Some roles may include a target bonus or sales commission plan based on level of role. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,000/year up to $65,000/year in base salary.
