Apple's Data Center Engineering team is seeking a skilled BIM expert to lead CAD, BIM, and engineering documentation systems management. This role involves evaluating new IT server and data center infrastructure technologies. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, innovative, self-confident, and forward-thinking individual experienced in collaborating across diverse functions in the data center AEC space. As the BIM Systems Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert, overseeing quality review of CAD drawings and BIM models, leading process development, and maintaining the BIM technologies roadmap. Responsibilities include standardizing documentation, consolidating design records, providing quality-reviewed BIM deliverables, managing digital assets, and implementing industry-leading BIM technology.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering, Architecture or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in BIM administration
  • Experience with tool automation, such as Dynamo or Autodesk Platform Services API programming
  • Building and equipment related 3D modeling, using tools such as Revit, Inventor, SolidWorks or other BIM/MCAD
Good to have:
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experienced with MEP and/or structural-related BIM modeling
  • Strong familiarity with drafting (AutoCAD) and modeling (Revit, Navisworks and reality capture) applications
  • Detailed knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Experience with scripting and/or visual programming automation tools (Dynamo and Python)
  • Project management and tracking experience
  • Advanced spreadsheet and/or data base skills for data manipulation, project tracking, and analysis
  • Proficiency with Mac, Linux and Windows systems
  • Experienced with Civil3D and ArcGIS integration
  • Willingness to explore and learn new tools and processes, which may require travel to Apple facilities to train and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Our Data Center Engineering team is responsible for evaluating new technologies of IT servers, Data Center Infrastructure devices and systems. We are seeking a skilled BIM expert to to join our team and lead our CAD, BIM and engineering documentation systems management. We are looking for a team oriented and innovative person with a logical mindset, that is self-confident and forward-thinking, and is experienced in collaborating with the diversity of functions in the data center AEC space.

As the BIM Systems Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for the Data Center Engineering function; oversee the owner quality review of CAD drawings and BIM models on large, complex projects; provide leadership in documentation-related process development and re-engineering; and develop and maintain our BIM technologies roadmap. Responsibilities: Develop process for the standardization of documentation, file structure and types to drive consistency across projects. Collaborate with internal and external teams to consolidate design record documentation and construction as-built information for the development and maintenance of accurate and detailed BIM administrative models for large and complex projects. Provide quality reviewed BIM deliverables to facilities teams for operational use. Manage the maintenance of the BIM-related digital assets to ensure they remain reflective of the current building asset condition. Research, introduce, and support the implementation of industry-leading BIM technology.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields: Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering, Architecture or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience.
