BSOL- Network & System Engineer

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Network & System Engineer with at least 1 year of hands-on experience in network and system administration. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining and improving our organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth and secure operations.

Must-Have - LAN, DNS, DHCP, Cisco, VPN-

Key Responsibilities:

Network Management:

• Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, ensuring optimal network uptime.
• Assist with firewall, VPN, and other network security configurations.

System Administration:

• Provide daily support for server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Windows, Mac OS and Linux servers.
• Perform regular system health checks and updates to operating systems and applications.
• Maintain and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.

User Support:

• Assist in providing technical support for internal users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Assist in setting up and configuring user workstations, laptops, Router and peripherals.

Security & Backup:

• Ensure security patches and updates are applied across systems.
• Participate in regular backups and recovery testing to ensure data integrity.
• Implement security measures in line with company policies to protect against unauthorized access and potential vulnerabilities.

Documentation:

• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, system processes, and IT policies.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of hardware and software licenses.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in network and system administration.
• Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, networking hardware, and troubleshooting.

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with Cisco or other networking equipment.
• Familiarity with O365 & Sophos Firewall.
• Basic knowledge of routing, switching, firewall, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services.
• Basic understanding of network security principles.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and supporting end-users.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS or Azure is beneficial. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is an added advantage.
