The client is looking for a Business Development Manager to enhance their market presence in Hong Kong and Taiwan. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with local and Japanese businesses, focusing on corporate planning, new business development, and R&D departments. Key responsibilities include managing client relationships, identifying new business prospects, cultivating professional networks, and creating customized solutions. The role also entails executing field sales activities, managing the entire sales cycle from presentation to contract closure for leads from the Inside Sales team, sourcing and qualifying new opportunities, scheduling client meetings, and finalizing agreements. Collaboration with Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams is crucial for client satisfaction and value delivery, along with implementing innovative sales strategies and developing use cases in emerging markets.
Must have:
  • 3-7 years of B2B sales/business development experience
  • Experience with Japanese clientele in Hong Kong/Taiwan
  • Experience engaging executive-level stakeholders
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Professional-level Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1)
  • Self-directed work ethic
  • Marketing sophisticated offerings (SaaS, professional services)
  • Enterprise sales background

Overview

Our client seeks a strategic Business Development Manager to strengthen the company's market presence in Hong Kong and Taiwan. In this position, you will establish and nurture relationships with local and Japanese enterprises, particularly within strategic business units including Corporate Planning, New Business Development, and Research & Development. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining client relationships, generating new business opportunities, fostering strong professional connections, and developing tailored consultative solutions.

What You Will Do

    • Execute comprehensive field sales activities in accordance with established sales methodology
    • Manage the complete sales process—from initial presentation to contract finalization—for prospects identified by the Inside Sales team
    • Source and qualify new business opportunities, schedule client meetings, and finalize agreements
    • Partner with interdepartmental teams (Marketing, Customer Success, Product) to maximize client satisfaction and value delivery
    • Implement innovative sales strategies and develop additional use cases within emerging markets

What You Will Need

    • 3–7 years of demonstrated B2B sales or business development expertise, particularly with Japanese clientele in Hong Kong and Taiwan markets
    • Demonstrated success in engaging executive-level stakeholders and providing consultative business solutions
    • Analytical problem-solving capabilities and demonstrated success with innovative sales methodologies
    • Professional-level Japanese language proficiency, JLPT N1 certification required
    • Self-directed work ethic and flexibility within dynamic organizational environments
    • Proven experience marketing sophisticated offerings such as SaaS platforms, professional services, or information solutions
    • Enterprise sales background with comprehensive knowledge of corporate decision-making frameworks
    • Prior involvement in business development initiatives or venture creation
