The APAC COO team at BlackRock is expanding to India, seeking a Vice President Business Manager to lead and develop the India business management team. This role involves overseeing business management activities, including headcount and expense management, onboarding, and training. Key responsibilities also include coordinating risk oversight, managing external and regulatory reporting, engaging with stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and automation. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in financial services with strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Must Have
- Lead and develop the India business management team, ensuring effective onboarding and transition of new hires.
- Oversee business management activities, including headcount and expense management, onboarding, and training.
- Coordinate risk oversight and governance activities, such as compliance training, self-audits, and control framework execution.
- Manage timely completion of external and regulatory reporting, driving automation and process enhancements.
- Engage with SteerCo and key partners to align priorities, communicate progress, and support stakeholder engagement.
- Identify and implement future opportunities for operational efficiency, centralization, and automation.
- 8+ years’ experience in business management, COO, or related roles within financial services.
- Strong understanding of risk management, governance, and regulatory reporting in APAC markets.
- Strong financial and quantitative analytics skills, including attention to detail and ability to work with large quantities of data.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
- Proven track record in process optimization, automation, and project management.
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization and navigating cross-cultural environments.
- Commercial mindset, structured problem-solving ability, and a proactive, self-starter approach.
- Leadership experience required, with a sharp focus on developing and growing future leaders.
- Willingness and ability to work a shift schedule that aligns with APAC business hours.

The APAC COO team ensures that regional and country platforms are running commercially, smoothly and efficiently. We partner with the Head of Asia Pacific and the most senior business leaders to unlock opportunities to accelerate growth, disrupt our business and drive change. The team conducts in-depth analyses of our resources and financial position to translate into practical insights, proactively mitigates risks through a sharp focus on operations and drives our talent and culture agenda forward.
We are expanding the APAC COO team to India to support business management, risk & governance, and external/regulatory reporting priorities. The India team will partner closely with regional stakeholders to administer programs, ensure compliance with local and regional regulations, and deliver tech-enabled process optimization. The India Team Lead will drive team development, coordinate deliverables, and support future pipeline planning.
Key Responsibilities

Knowledge / Skills

- Strong financial and quantitative analytics skills, including attention to detail and ability to work with large quantities of data to identify and present trends (experience in automation/data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, Python will be a good to have)
