Job Description

Apple Hardware Operations is seeking a Customer Success ECAD engineer to support, train, and customize methodologies, vendor tools, workflows, and custom applications for electrical designs. The role involves collaborating with hardware engineering teams to address design challenges, provide guidance on best practices, and enhance the engineering environment. Key responsibilities include supporting hardware engineering staff in design and simulation workflows, identifying and debugging issues, developing training, and leveraging AI/ML techniques for engineering challenges.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge of MCAD workflows.
  • Some knowledge of Cadence Sigrity or similar simulation tools.
  • Some experience applying AI/ML techniques to solve engineering problems.
Must Have:
  • Support hardware engineering staff through its component, System/Schematic design and simulation workflows.
  • Identify, triage and debug Schematic and System workflow related issues.
  • Develop and deliver training on best practices with regards to Schematic design, verification and System workflows.
  • Identify and generate workflow requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and development team to deliver enhancements and solutions.
  • Leverage AI/ML techniques to facilitate everyday work and solve engineering challenges.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent (Computer/Electrical Engineering) or relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge with System and Schematic workflows.
  • ECAD design tools and workflows.
  • Proficiency with Linux and shell scripting.
  • Expert knowledge of Cadence software for System and Schematic design.
  • Knowledge of the HW design process from library creation to Architecture, Schematic and analysis flows.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce).
  • Extensive understanding of Architecture, Schematic and constraints.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, PDN design and thermal management techniques for PCBs.
  • Experience developing and presenting trainings.
  • Familiarity with fundamental AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, supervised or unsupervised learning, neural networks and prompt engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify, triage and debug technical design issues, arriving at root cause.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with an ability to work with different stakeholders operating at various skill levels.
  • Thrives in a dynamic work environment, both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Proven ability to work independently while using sound technical and business judgement.
  • Dynamic with a “can do” attitude.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the multi-functional hardware engineering teams to address design challenges and provide guidance on engineering best practices. They will contribute to a diverse range of initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the engineering environment and fostering a more knowledgeable engineering workforce.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support hardware engineering staff through its component, System/Schematic design and simulation workflows
  • Identify, triage and debug Schematic and System workflow related issues
  • Develop and deliver training on best practices with regards to Schematic design, verification and System workflows
  • Identify and generate workflow requirements and best practices
