Job Description

The Camera Foundation team at Apple is seeking a junior software engineer to develop and extend the real-time camera capture pipeline for iPhone and other Apple devices. This role involves working on the core Camera Framework APIs and media pipeline that powers the built-in Camera app and thousands of third-party applications, contributing to features like Night Mode, Live Photos, and Portrait Mode. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, comfortable in a dynamic environment, and possess strong communication skills, with a desirable understanding of real-time systems, concurrent processing, and performance-sensitive environments. Understanding of real-time systems behavior, concurrent processing, and performance- and memory-sensitive environments is desirable.

  • 0-3 years of software development experience.
  • Excelled in relevant coursework in computer architecture, collaborative software engineering, algorithms, and/or computer graphics.
  • Proficient in Objective-C, C, or C++ and familiar with the challenges of abstraction and API design

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $126,800 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
