Job Description

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is seeking a safety-focused individual with a great attitude and strong ethics to operate a CDL B Crash truck. Responsibilities include providing mobile protection for highway maintenance crews, following traffic and safety procedures, inspecting and maintaining the vehicle, and assisting with various highway maintenance activities. The role requires adherence to DOT regulations and company policies, transporting equipment, and performing physical labor. Candidates must have a valid Class B CDL with 5 years of clean driving history and knowledge of GPS.
Must have:
  • Safely operate a CDL B Crash truck to provide mobile protection for highway maintenance crews.
  • Follow all traffic control and safety procedures in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the crew leader and other operators to position and move the Crash truck as work progresses.
  • Inspect and maintain the vehicle before and after use, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Assist with highway maintenance activities, such as debris removal, traffic control setup, sign placement, vegetation clearing, and other labor as assigned.
  • Remain alert and vigilant to changing traffic conditions while protecting the work zone.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific requirements.
  • Transport operational equipment and material required for contract execution including loading, unloading, and mixing activities.
  • Perform tasks that involve lifting and moving objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver’s logs and inspection sheets.
  • Undertake light repairing and maintenance tasks on vehicles.
  • Participate in cross training as assigned and provide assistance and guidance for related work when necessary.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess a valid Class B CDL with 5 years of clean driving history.
  • Have knowledge of GPS and navigation skills.
Good to have:
  • Prior experience operating commercial vehicles in construction or roadway environments.
  • Knowledge of traffic control and work zone safety procedures (certification a plus).
  • Ability to drive manual transmission trucks.

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is looking for someone that has a strong desire for safety, a great attitude, and good ethics. He or she will be responsible for executing various infrastructure maintenance contract duties including, but not limited to roadside herbicide applications, shadow and crash truck operations, and traffic control operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Safely operate a CDL B Crash truck to provide mobile protection for highway maintenance crews.
  • Follow all traffic control and safety procedures in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the crew leader and other operators to position and move the Crash truck as work progresses.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 18+ years of age.
  • Must have a valid Class B CDL with 5 years of clean driving history.
  • Knowledge of GPS and navigation skills required.
  • Ability to lift to 60+ pounds
  • Prior experience operating commercial vehicles in construction or roadway environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of traffic control and work zone safety procedures (certification a plus).
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical labor when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to crew and public safety.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission trucks preferred.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and emergency response situations.

Pay rate: $22-25+/hourly (prevailing wage rates apply)
