Job Description
As a CFX Artist at Scanline VFX, you'll create photorealistic hair, cloth simulations, and other 3D visual effects for feature films. Responsibilities include running simulations, troubleshooting, revising based on feedback, modeling shots, cleaning simulations, supporting animation principles, and collaborating with the CFX department. You'll need at least two years of CFX simulation experience in live-action VFX for feature films, strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and proficiency in Maya, Python, and Mel Script. The role requires working independently and as part of a team, meeting tight deadlines, and having excellent problem-solving abilities.

As a CFX Artist, you will be responsible for delivering photo-realistic, high-quality production hair and cloth simulations and other realistic 3D visual effects.
Key Responsibilities
- Run simulations for shot production
- Troubleshoots and provide revision based on the feedback from supervisor or client
- Model shot and/or clean existing hair/cloth simulations
- Support pipeline animation principles, timing, and departmental interdependencies
- Communicate and partner with the CFX department on an ongoing basis regarding updates, changes, and general status updates
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of CFX simulation experience in live-action visual effects for feature films or similar production environment
- Experience delivering complete milestones/tasks under tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eye for detail and excellent organizational skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as a team player
- Quick learner with strong troubleshooting/problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Maya, Python, and Mel Script experience
