We’re looking for a **Character Artist** who can help define and execute the visual identity of our characters. You’ll play a key role in elevating DreamWorld’s overall look by creating compelling characters in a realistic art style that fit within our fantasy sandbox.
This is a highly collaborative role. You'll work closely with our Lead 3D Artist and potentially help shape the broader art direction of the game.
**Responsibilities**
* Design and model 3D characters for DreamWorld (NPCs, enemies, player avatars)
* Develop realistic, fantastical characters with strong silhouettes and a distinct visual identity
* Create low-to-mid poly models optimized for performance
* Work with the animation and tech art teams to ensure clean rigging/deformation
* Contribute to the early development of a unified art style alongside other artists
* Bonus: Help define art direction through mood boards, style guides, and creative input
**What We’re Looking For**
* Strong 3D character modeling skills (Maya, Blender, ZBrush, etc.)
* Solid sculpting and topology fundamentals
* A strong understanding of the PBR pipeline
* A sharp eye for fantasy-inspired character design
* Able to take ideas from concept to in-game ready
* Comfortable working in Unreal Engine or willing to learn quickly
* Bonus: Experience with rigging, skinning.
* Bonus: Experience as an Art Director or interest in growing into that role
**Ideal Candidate**
* A highly motivated artist who’s excited to define DreamWorld’s visual identity
* Either a Character Artist with a strong creative vision *or* An Art Director-type who’s junior enough to be hands-on with asset creation.
