Job Summary

Job Description

The main task is to respond to existing clients. You will act as a liaison between clients and the production team, supporting the smooth progress of localization projects. This role is recommended for those who are good at client communication, multitasking, time management, and problem-solving, in addition to language skills, and who are interested in learning new technologies. After joining, team managers and senior colleagues will provide on-the-job training from scratch, so even those without experience can apply with confidence.
Must have:
  • Respond to client requests for new project initiatives through centralized technology
  • Collaborate with production team to assess scope and produce cost and timeline estimates
  • Initiate project work by providing detailed budget, schedule, and instructions
  • Ensure pitfalls are addressed and resolved with the client before submission to production
  • Initiate project specifics to set the production team up for success
  • Proactively learn about clients’ industry, business needs, and company culture
  • Monitor and communicate project progress, ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets
  • Serve as central point of contact and liaison between client and internal staff
  • Set and fulfill client expectations
  • Comply with all ISO regulations, processes, and procedures
  • Potentially troubleshoot problem projects
  • Understand and abide by individual project instructions
  • Investigate client complaints
  • Discuss issues with clients and production staff and creatively problem solve
  • Complete any other appropriate tasks assigned by manager/supervisor

Job Details

Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to client requests for new project initiatives through our centralized technology
  • Collaborate with various members of the production team to assess the scope of work and produce cost and timeline estimates for translation projects and requests
  • Initiate all project related work by providing detailed budget, schedule and instructions to the project team and by anticipating pitfalls or potential roadblocks to successful completion
  • Ensure that any pitfalls are addressed and resolved with the client before being submitted to the production team
  • Where applicable, initiate some project specifics to set the production team/individual project up for success
  • Take a proactive role in learning about clients’ industry, business needs and company culture, educating the project team, and providing a high level of service
  • Monitor and communicate project progress, ensure strict adherence to deadlines and budgets and ultimately produce high quality deliverables
  • Serve as the central point of contact for and liaison between external client contact and internal production staff
  • Set and fulfill client expectations
  • Comply with all ISO regulations, processes and procedures
  • Potentially troubleshoot problem projects
  • Understand and abide by individual project instructions and effectively communicate to the production team
  • Investigate client complaints where applicable
  • Discuss issues with clients and production staff and creatively problem solve to alleviate issues
  • Complete any other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role as assigned by a manager/supervisor

International Team Members

Most team members are in their 20s to 40s and have international backgrounds. Performance reviews are conducted annually, and promotions are based on performance. There is a possibility of being asked to take on management responsibilities in the future. The global environment ensures that “those who work hard are properly evaluated” regardless of age or length of service.

Basic Recruitment Process - 3-4 Weeks

HR Interview (Japanese) → Manager Interview (Japanese) → Overseas Manager Interview (English) → Final On-site Interview (Japanese)

Annual Salary/Compensation

  • Annual salary system: 4,000,000 - 4,500,000 JPY (performance-based bonus from the second year, 4 times a year)
  • Full social insurance
  • Commuting allowance (up to 30,000 JPY per month)

Working Hours and Holidays

  • Monday-Friday, 8 hours work + 1 hour break between 9:00-19:00
  • 2 days off per week (Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays), paid leave (15 days in the first year), birthday leave, congratulatory/condolence leave, childcare leave, sick leave

Contract Type

First year is contract employee (first 6 months are probationary period), transition to permanent employee from the second year upon mutual agreement.

*Even as a contract employee, benefits such as salary, social insurance, and paid leave days are equivalent to those of a permanent employee.

Job requirements

  • Japanese: Native level, English: Business level (目安: TOEIC 880 or higher)
  • English is used for internal communication (meetings, training, etc.).
  • Over 1 year of customer experience (including part-time work)
  • University degree or equivalent qualification
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Sociable and enjoys communicating with people
  • Good at time management and multitasking
