They seek an AWS Cloud Engineer to support a Federal Government customer in Hannover, MD. This role involves accelerating Enterprise Cloud Environment adoption through infrastructure analysis, design, and development, integrating technical services, and ensuring cloud-native computing compliance. The engineer will troubleshoot issues, resolve defects, and recommend configurations for the Government cloud baseline, including monitoring data integrity, managing deployments, ensuring security, and optimizing billing.
Must have:
  • Accelerate adoption of Enterprise Cloud Environment.
  • Perform cloud infrastructure analysis, design, and development.
  • Integrate technical services and capabilities with cloud environment.
  • Help software developers ensure platform cloud native computing compliance.
  • Troubleshoot cloud functionality issues and resolve defects.
  • Provide recommendations for Government cloud baseline configuration, management, and maintenance.
  • Monitor data integrity across tiered environments.
  • Manage the deployment process.
  • Perform account management.
  • Ensure security compliance.
  • Identify billing model best practices and optimizations.
  • Support application upgrades.
  • Assist in product documentation and release notes.
  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Experience with cloud migration planning, roadmaps, and technology insertion.
  • Experience with cloud-native computing principles (containers, microservices, serverless).
  • Experience automating cloud deployments and managing configuration at scale.
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, firewalls, troubleshooting).
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with deployment strategies and release management in cloud environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving cloud infrastructure and application issues.
  • Experience writing technical documentation, release notes, and operational procedures.
Good to have:
  • AWS Certifications at Professional or Specialty levels (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking)
  • Networking Certifications (CCNA, Network+, CCNP, MCSE)
  • 1-3 years of experience performing network administrator responsibilities
  • Security certifications (CCNA Security, CySA+, SSCP)
  • Implementing identity and access management (IAM) solutions
  • Implementing encryption solutions
  • Implementing monitoring solutions
  • Analyzing performance metrics
  • Optimizing cloud resources for cost and efficiency
  • Supporting developers in debugging cloud-native applications

Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team and support a Federal Government customer in Hannover, MD. The Cloud Engineer will help accelerate the adoption of Enterprise Cloud Environment by performing cloud infrastructure analysis, design, and development and integrate technical services and capabilities with the cloud environment. The cloud engineer will help software developers ensure platform cloud native computing compliance by troubleshooting cloud functionality issues and resolving defects. Provide recommendations for the configuration, management, and maintenance of the Government cloud baseline to include: monitoring data integrity across tiered environments; managing the deployment process; performing account management; ensuring security compliance; identifying billing model best practices and optimizations; and supporting application upgrades. Assist in product documentation and release notes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI
  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience related to specific functional area.
  • Certifications: Currently hold one or more AWS cloud certifications at the Foundational or Associate levels (e.g. Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, SysOps Engineer, Developer).
  • Experience and knowledge on:
  • Proven ability to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and services
  • Experience with cloud migration planning, cloud technology roadmaps, and technology insertion.
  • Experience with cloud-native computing principles and technologies (e.g., containers, microservices, serverless)
  • Experience automating cloud deployments and managing configuration at scale
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, CIS Benchmarks)

Preferred Qualifications:
