AnaVation is seeking a Senior Cyber Advisor to support National Security missions. The role involves partnering with customers and cybersecurity experts to advise senior personnel on military intelligence missions. Responsibilities include providing high-level guidance and strategic advice in Cyber/Intelligence planning and innovation, aligning with organizational goals. The candidate will review and assess current capabilities, identify gaps, and deliver actionable recommendations to enhance Cyber/Intelligence operations. This includes assessing USCYBERCOM J2 needs, articulating functional requirements for complex systems like information systems architecture and networking, and developing plans to address these needs.
Must have:
  • U.S. Citizen, SCI within last 2 years
  • Four or more years of experience in a Military Cyber Advisor role
  • Four years of experience with J2 Planning, Analysis, and Operations or supporting USCYBERCOM/military/intelligence cyber missions
  • Cyber/Intelligence strategic planning experience
  • Experience analyzing joint intelligence staff needs for functional requirements and system development
  • Experience providing technical advisory support to Joint intelligence staff on Data Science, Data Analysis, Data Engineering, Big Data, and Data Architecture programs
  • Experience providing studies and recommendations on Intelligence support to Cyber Network Offensive/Defensive Operations and Cyber Security
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaboration with programmers, engineers, and leaders for process improvements and policy development
Good to have:
  • Experience with obtaining, reviewing, disseminating, or producing Cyber Threat Intelligence
  • Working with public, open-source CTI sources
  • Understanding of Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill chain, MITRE ATT&CK framework, TTPs, IoCs, CVEs, and threat attribution
  • Experience with Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience with incident response, digital forensics, malware analysis, threat hunting, vulnerability management, and incident resolution
  • Experience with cyber event simulations or hands-on scenario-based training
  • Polygraph within last 5 years
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Security+, Cloud+ CySA+, CISSP, CEH, or similar certification
  • Seven or more years of experience in a Cyber Advisor role

Description of Task to be Performed:  AnaVation is looking for a talented Senior Cyber Advisor who is passionate about supporting National Security missions. The ideal candidate appreciates partnering with our customer and a group of cybersecurity experts to advise senior personnel in support of military intelligence missions.  This position is full time on-site Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
 
Position Responsibilities: Provides high level guidance and strategic advice in Cyber/Intelligence planning and innovation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and advancements. Review and assess current capabilities, identify gaps, and deliver actionable recommendations to enhance Cyber/Intelligence operations and tradecraft. Assess USCYBERCOM J2 needs to determine and articulate functional requirements for complex systems, including information systems architecture, networking, and other related domains and develop plans to address these needs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Clearance: U.S. Citizen, SCI within last 2 years
  • Location: Full time on-site Annapolis Junction, Maryland

  • Experience and knowledge:
  • Four or more years of experience in a Military Cyber Advisor role
  • Four years of experience with J2 Planning, Analysis, and Operations and/or supporting USCYBERCOM,  military, or intelligence community cyber missions/programs.
  • Cyber/Intelligence strategic planning.
  • Experience analyzing joint intelligence staff needs to determine functional requirements and define problems and develop plans for moderately complex to complex systems related to information systems architecture, networking; telecommunications, automation, communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software, lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation.
  • Experience providing technical advisory support to Joint intelligence staff concerning Data Science, Data Analysis, Data Engineering, Big Data, and Data Architecture programs driving innovative solutions.
  • Experience providing studies and recommendations on Intelligence support to Cyber Network Offensive Operations, Defensive Operations, and Cyber Security.
  • Demonstrates exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Collaborates with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with obtaining, reviewing, disseminating, or producing Cyber Threat Intelligence?  Working with public, open-source CTI sources. 
  • Understanding of the Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill chain, MITRE ATT&CK framework, TTPs, IoCs, CVEs, and threat attribution play in Cyber Operations (Offensive, Defensive, or Cybersecurity).
  • Experience with Risk Assessment and Risk Management - the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
