Job Description

VGW is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst in Sydney to provide financial insights, reporting, and forecasting for a key product area. This role involves partnering with stakeholders to drive product performance, ensure transparency, and enable informed decision-making. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, building financial models, and performing deep-dive analysis into KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and support strategies.
Must have:
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reporting packs including P&L and KPI analysis for internal stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including rolling forecasts and long-term strategic planning.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance robust financial models to support scenario analysis, forecasting, and business decision-making.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis into financial and operational KPIs; identify trends, variances, and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Analyse historical performance data to generate insights and support forward-looking strategies.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Finance Analyst (or similar role) ideally in product-focused or FP&A environments.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills with high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proven ability to work with data from multiple systems and consolidate into meaningful insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and curious mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting insights to a senior and diverse stakeholder group.
Good to have:
  • CA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience with financial planning systems (e.g. Adaptive Insights).
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).

Our FP&A team in Sydney is currently looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join the team.

The Commercial Finance Analyst will provide financial insights, reporting, and forecasting to support one of the company’s key product areas. This role partners with stakeholders across the business to drive product performance, deliver transparency, and enable informed decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and deliver monthly reporting packs including P&L and KPI analysis for internal stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including rolling forecasts and long-term (3–5 year) strategic planning.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance robust financial models to support scenario analysis, forecasting, and business decision-making.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis into financial and operational KPIs; identify trends, variances, and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Analyse historical performance data to generate insights and support forward-looking strategies.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.

What you will bring to the role:
