The Community Manager will lead The Lighthouse Brooklyn membership program, curating a creative, career-focused collective. The role focuses on building strong relationships, operational excellence, and strategic planning to grow the membership base while aligning with The Lighthouse’s mission. Responsibilities include tracking membership growth, building relationships with creators and partners, hosting acquisition events, collaborating with marketing, handling membership applications, fostering community connections, assisting with member event activations, working with leadership on strategic plans, managing budgets, leading quarterly planning, and maintaining CRM expertise. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in membership management, community engagement, or hospitality, strong relationship-building skills, and experience in event activation and CRM systems.

The Lighthouse is an innovative campus for creators and their teams, with locations in Venice, CA, and Brooklyn, NY. We are a creative playground designed for creators to Learn, Make, and Belong. Our mission is to assemble the creator collective, helping them grow and sustain their careers while provoking the next act of the creator economy. At The Lighthouse, creators flow seamlessly from ideation to production to publication, surrounded by peers in a collaborative and inspiring environment.

About the role:

The Community Manager will lead The Lighthouse Brooklyn membership program, curating a creative, career-focused collective. The role focuses on building strong relationships, operational excellence, and strategic planning to grow the membership base while aligning with The Lighthouse’s mission.

Here's what you'll do day to day:

  • Track membership growth (750 members, 16 Work Studios).
  • Build relationships with creators, communities, and partners to drive interest.
  • Host acquisition events and ensure attendance at key events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to target communications and manage inbound requests.
  • Handle membership applications and serve as the primary contact for member interactions.
  • Foster community connections and support campus tours and orientations.
  • Assist with member event activations.
  • Work with leadership on strategic plans for membership growth.
  • Manage budgets and track financial targets with the General Manager.
  • Lead quarterly planning for membership goals and network at industry events.
  • Partner with teams to enhance member engagement.
  • Maintain CRM expertise (PeopleVine) and manage member data.
  • Conduct campus walkthroughs and support reception during events.
  • Ensure smooth event check-ins and represent members at council meetings.

  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in event activation and CRM systems (PeopleVine preferred).
  • Proven track record in planning and executing membership growth initiatives.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for The Lighthouse’s mission and supporting creators.
  • A collaborative mindset, eager to work with cross-functional teams to enhance the member experience.
  • Strong ties to the Creator Generation, with a deep understanding of their needs, challenges, and ambitions.

  • Understand the philosophical difference between being a Leader versus being just a Manager.

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000 and serves as a general guideline reflecting the potential compensation for the role. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate's experience, expertise, alignment with the position's requirements, and, ultimately budget approvals.
