Job Description

The Compiler Engineering team at Intel is seeking a Compiler Engineer to support Intel Compiler products. Responsibilities include analyzing applications and benchmarks, and defining, designing, developing, testing, debugging, releasing, enhancing, and maintaining compiler tools for general purpose and domain-specific programming languages targeting Intel CPUs. The role involves feature development, resolving software defects, improving code performance, conducting experiments, and collaborating with cross-geo engineering, validation, and performance teams to ensure product quality.
Good To Have:
  • Master's degree or PhD. in Computer science or Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with vectorization and parallel programming models, such as OpenMP
  • Experience in compiler development for CPU targets (LLVM compiler framework), linkers, assembler
  • Experience in compiler optimizations for efficient CPU HW performance, and CPU architecture knowledge
  • Experience in performance analysis using profiler tools (e.g. perf and/or others)
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics or a related technical discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in C/C++, object-oriented programming, data structures
  • Experience in software optimizations for CPU performance
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to pro-actively pursue solutions

Job Description:

The Compiler Engineering team in Software and AI Group at Intel has an opportunity available for a Compiler Engineer.

You will help us to provide strong support for the Intel Compiler products going forward: you will be responsible for analysis of applications and benchmarks, as well as definition, design, development, test, debugging, release, enhancement, and maintenance of software compiler tools for general purpose and domain specific programming languages targeting Intel CPUs.

You may work directly with hardware design teams, other companies and open source communities developing compilers, and participate in programming language and standards groups.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • feature development and resolving of compiler software defects;
  • finding opportunities to improve performance of compiler generated code;
  • carrying out functional and performance experiments, tests, including stress tests;
  • cross-geo collaboration with engineering, validation and performance teams across Intel to ensure product quality and performance.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The Software and AI (SAI) Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
