The Consultant, Strategic Project Management Office (PMO) role within the PowerGen APAC team at Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia Pte Ltd is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Portfolio, Program, and Project Management standards across the APAC region. This includes ensuring consistency, efficiency, and strategic alignment. The role involves advising on project performance indicators, tool utilization, and best practices, while collaborating with regional and global teams. Key accountabilities include developing and implementing global PMO guidelines, analyzing portfolio performance, collecting lessons learned, supporting senior management, guiding integrated planning, and tailoring reporting to stakeholders.
Must have:
  • Master's or equivalent degree in a relevant field
  • Several years of experience in Portfolio, Program, or Project Management
  • Solid experience in SAP project-related systems (SAP PPM, BW, SAC, CEC)
  • Familiarity with PM IT tools (Oracle Primavera, SAP PPM, or similar)
  • Proficient in KPI systems and process management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, positive, and adaptable mindset with a team-oriented approach
Good to have:
  • Experience within an EPC environment
  • Proven project management certification (e.g., PMI, IPMA)
  • Experience working across diverse cultures, particularly within Asia

A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Consultant, Strategic Project Management Office (PMO) to join our PowerGen APAC team at Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia Pte Ltd.

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of cross-business unit Portfolio, Program, and Project Management standards across the APAC region, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and strategic alignment. You will also serve as a key advisor on project performance indicators, tool utilization, and best practices while collaborating with stakeholders across regional and global teams.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defense vehicles and for the oil and gas industry as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement global Portfolio, Program, and Project Management guidelines, processes, and tools in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with international standards (e.g., ISO, ICB 4.0).
  • Analyze and compare regional and global portfolios using standardized performance indicators (e.g., SPI, CPI, NCC) and escalate where needed.
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate Lessons Learned from global project executions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support and advise senior management and project teams on the efficient use of project management tools.
  • Guide integrated cross-functional planning for regional programs and projects.
  • Support regular steering committee meetings and tailor reporting to stakeholder needs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • Several years of experience in Portfolio, Program, or Project Management, ideally within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment.
  • Proven project management certification preferred (e.g., PMI, IPMA), with PMI being more commonly recognized in Singapore.
  • Solid experience in SAP project-related systems such as SAP PPM, BW, SAC, CEC.
  • Familiarity with PM IT tools such as Oracle Primavera, SAP PPM, or similar platforms.
  • Proficient in KPI systems, process management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior management.
  • Proactive, positive, and adaptable mindset with a strong team-oriented approach.
  • Experience working across diverse cultures, particularly within Asia.
