Job Summary

The Content Product Owner at Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory is responsible for aligning Kluwer Law International’s content processes, tools, and systems with broader company standards. This role acts as a bridge between business and IT, translating stakeholder needs into scalable content solutions for internal editorial workflows and customer-facing platforms. Key responsibilities include developing content management strategies, designing content models, gathering requirements, and managing knowledge models and metadata to enhance content discoverability and product features.

Must Have

  • Develop content management strategy and roadmap
  • Prioritize and manage backlog for editorial/content IT systems/tools
  • Design and evolve KLI content model
  • Analyze and map KLI’s content structures against MACK and CROWN
  • Gather and analyze business needs from stakeholders, editors, and customers/users
  • Translate needs into clear functional and technical requirements
  • Define content policies and instructions
  • Serve as key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams
  • Develop and maintain knowledge models (e.g., in SKOS)
  • Support implementation of metadata structures
  • Proven track record of successful product ownership of content-related products/systems
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role and organization (legal or publishing industries)
  • Knowledge of content management systems, content pipelines, and tools like PublishOne, Poolparty, Drupal
  • Experience with process improvements and data analysis
  • Proven experience working in Agile environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Profound knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Job Description

The Content Product Owner (PO) is responsible for aligning Kluwer Law International’s content processes, tools and systems with the broader standards of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory (WK L&R). You’ll act as the bridge between business and IT, translating stakeholder needs into scalable content solutions that power both internal editorial workflows and customer-facing platforms like Kluwer Arbitration, Kluwer IP Law, Kluwer Competition Law.

Responsabilities:

Content Landscape & Strategy

  • Develop a comprehensive content management strategy and roadmap for key initiatives that add business, customer, and stakeholder value.
  • Understand the content management ecosystem at KLI and WK L&R, and how it supports customer-facing functionalities.
  • Prioritize and manage the backlog for editorial/content IT systems/tools, ensuring timely implementation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define a long-term vision for content and content structures.
  • Conduct regular audits of content processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with business goals.

Content Modeling

  • Design and evolve the KLI content model in alignment with WK L&R’s shared content standards.
  • Analyze and map KLI’s content structures against divisional content models such as MACK and CROWN, which are based on linked data and RDF.
  • Ensure the content model supports scalability and flexibility to accommodate future growth and changes in business needs.

Requirements Engineering

  • Gather and analyze business needs from stakeholders, editors, and customers/users related to content processes and systems. This includes needs on how content and associated metadata should be shown on customer-facing systems.
  • Translate these needs into clear functional and technical requirements for editorial and customer-facing systems.
  • Define content policies and instructions based on functional requirements.
  • Serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
  • Support with issues and bugs management as part of the backlog management across our editorial/content IT systems/tools.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and expectations.

Knowledge Models & Metadata

  • Work with subject matter experts to develop and maintain knowledge models (e.g., in SKOS), including ontologies, taxonomies, thesauri, and controlled vocabularies.
  • Support the implementation of metadata structures (such as keyword and topic thesauri) that enhance content discoverability and enable advanced product features.
  • Continuously monitor and update knowledge models and metadata structures to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • University degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of successful product ownership of content-related products/systems, including managing large, complex initiatives.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role and organization (legal or publishing industries).
  • Knowledge of content management systems, content pipelines, and content-related tools such as PublishOne, Poolparty, and Drupal.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Product Manager) are a plus.
  • Experience with process improvements and data analysis.
  • Proven experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with development/operational teams.
  • Demonstrated success in defining and delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs.
  • Experience in market research, user testing, and gathering customer feedback.

Travel: <10% international travel

Office: In office for 2 days in a week to work with the team.
