Job Description

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist within the Global Operations Excellence team, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing continuous improvement best practices globally, fostering an operational excellence culture. You will lead continuous improvement projects, manage change effectively, and collaborate with management and business units to embed a culture of continuous improvement. Your role involves elevating the continuous improvement culture and acting as a change accelerator, requiring strategic thinking, strong communication skills to promote innovation, and effective team collaboration with good priority and stress management.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence.
  • Experience in workshop facilitation and Six Sigma, Lean, or BPM projects.
  • Ability to work with management teams and be results-oriented.
  • Excellent coaching, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required.
  • Available for occasional travel to CAE sites.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Workday Learning and Articulate 360.
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP, or OIQ certification.

As part of the Global Operations Excellence team, you will participate as a Continuous improvement specialist, in the development and deployment of continuous improvement best practices globally through the business excellence model to enhance the organizational culture of operational excellence.
 

As part of this position, you will lead continuous improvement project and manage change to completion. You will be working in collaboration with several levels of management and business units in order to foster a culture continuous improvement and ensure added value to the organization.


You will play an active role to elevate the continuous improvement culture and people-driven change accelerator. A strategic thinker, a good communicator to sell new ideas and influence the positive benefits of continuous improvement and innovation; as well as a team player with good priority and stress management.

The role we are offering you:
 

  • Actively involved in the deployment of the business excellence model.
  • Proposes best practices and encourages opportunities for improvements within the value chain of the business unit
  • Lead project applying he use of various continuous improvement methodologies: PDCA, 8D, A3,lean six sigma, and Business process management (BPM)
  • Conduct problem-solving, root cause analysis, and related workshops.
  • Build and facilitate the training material according to the best practices and trends of a high-tech company.
  • Works in collaboration with cross-functional teams across CAE's various sites.
  • Participate in the development of the community of practice within CAE.
  • Support and coach business unit teams on the different concepts and continuous improvement methodologies to change their mindset and equip them with the correct tools
  • May be required to travel as required to various CAE locations, including locations in the UK, USA, Germany, and India.
  • Flexible and agile in prioritization according to project demand and urgency.
  • Prepare project and progress reports according to best practices on effective meeting structure.
     

Our ideal candidate has:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering (technical or business) or equivalent experience in continuous improvement in a similar role.
  • At least 3-5+ years of professional experience in lean, continuous improvement, operational excellence and/or combined with management, industrial engineering, or project management.
  • Relevant experience in workshop facilitation Experience in "Six Sigma", "Lean", PSM, business process management (BPM) projects.
  • Pragmatic approach in its efforts to achieve excellence, flexibility, adaptability, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work at different organizational levels and support management teams.
  • Results oriented.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. Autonomy in execution and decision-making.
  • Excellent skills in coaching and strong power of persuasion.
  • Mastery of interpersonal skills: Open and transparent communication, influence, active listening, and collaboration
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
  • Available to travel occasionally to different CAE sites.
    • Experience with Workday Learning and Articulate 360, is an asset.
  • Asset: Six Sigma Certification Green/Black Belt, PMP, Certification Member of the OIQ (Order of Engineers of Quebec) preferably.
