Canva seeks a Country Manager for Brazil to lead the company's growth in the region. Responsibilities include developing and executing a multi-year growth strategy, collaborating with global and local teams across marketing, sales, product, and finance, localizing the product and content to suit the Brazilian market, hiring and managing a local team, managing the marketing budget, building relationships with key stakeholders (government, enterprises, etc.), and acting as a public spokesperson for Canva in Brazil. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, experienced in market growth (e.g., regional GM or startup founder), a proven leader with high emotional intelligence, a strong communicator (fluent in English and Portuguese), analytical, product-oriented, and deeply aligned with Canva's values. The role involves significant strategic planning, team management, budget oversight, and public relations.

Where and how you can work

Our headquarters is in sunny Sydney, Australia, but our team spans the globe. Since we don’t have a physical campus in Brazil, this role is fully remote—giving you the flexibility to do your best work from wherever you thrive.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Strategy. Act as the main leadership point of contact with responsibility for overall user and revenue growth in Brazil. You'll bring together local and global teams across marketing, sales, product, content and finance to create and execute a cohesive multi-year growth strategy, and own the KPIs including MAUs and ARR.
  • Localisation. Work closely with the regional team to optimise our product, content, pricing and packaging to meet the needs of local users, informed by a deep understanding of local market dynamics and cultural nuances across a range of audiences, including knowledge workers, SMBs, students, startup ecosystems, NGOs, and other emerging sectors.
  • Leadership. Hire, inspire, drive and in some cases coach the in-market team, ensuring a high quality bar for impact and working closely with local speciality leads on performance management.
  • Budget. Partner closely with the regional team and marketing lead to shape the marketing strategy and deployment of budget.
  • Sponsorship. Build and support high value relationships by acting as a local sponsor for enterprise sales, education, government, partnerships, etc.
  • Public face. Represent Canva as a local figurehead across press, PR, events and community.

You're probably a match if

  • You are strongly entrepreneurial. Founder-style appetite for growing something big from a small start and working across everything from education to press.
  • You possess experience growing a market. For example, as the regional GM or brand lead for a global SaaS company, or as a proven founder or growth lead in a startup in a high growth environment.
  • You are a proven leader. Ability to grow, inspire, and coach high-performing teams. You have high emotional intelligence and empathy, and are a deeply collaborative teammate.
  • You are a strong communicator. Fully proficient in spoken and written English, and with the interpersonal skills to influence global and local stakeholders.
  • You are keenly analytical. Deeply focused on KPIs and obsessive about driving actionable insights from disparate datasets and able to think about a market’s performance holistically.
  • you are product oriented. Passion for improving the experience of users and the ability to translate local insights into product requirements with experience localising a global product for a particular market.
  • You are values aligned. Genuinely excited by Canva’s mission and deeply aligned with our values, and with exceptional references to prove it.
  • You are publicity savvy. Experience doing public speaking and acting as a public face to the press and other stakeholders.
  • You are well networked. Ideally with routes into some combination of government departments, corporates, influencers, journalists and local talent

About the team

Canva’s International supergroup is a diverse, distributed team of marketers, strategists, and growth leaders focused on expanding Canva's presence in key global markets. Our team partners with functions across Marketing, Growth, Product, Sales, Partnerships, Content, Finance, and Strategy to drive sustainable user and revenue growth in international markets.

As the Country Manager for Brazil, you will be the main point of contact and the driving force behind Canva’s success in the country. You will own and implement a multi-year strategic roadmap, leading cross-functional efforts to grow the user base and scale revenue.

This role requires deep market knowledge, a growth mindset, and strong leadership capabilities to bring together local and global teams across marketing, sales, and product in a cohesive strategy.
