Job Description

As a Data Scientist in the Search team, you will lead high-impact initiatives shaping user experiences for Caller ID, Spam & Fraud Protection, and Name Resolution. Your role involves driving innovation in spam detection, name accuracy, and large-scale experimentation, leveraging machine learning, statistics, and data engineering to solve real-world problems and enhance user trust and safety.
Good To Have:
  • Understanding how to query very large data efficiently (e.g., BigQuery).
  • Experience with data from mobile applications.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Solid understanding of engineering requirements to put machine learning solutions into production and scale them.
Must Have:
  • Explore problem spaces and find data science solutions for customer experience.
  • Plan data science work, emphasizing collaboration for common goals.
  • Lead efforts to detect and prevent spam, ensuring user safety and platform trust.
  • Drive the development and optimization of name election algorithms.
  • Design and run large-scale experiments to improve user experience and feature performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and analytics teams.
  • Translate complex data insights into clear strategies and actions.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience using data science and machine learning for real-world problems.
  • Track record of leading data science projects in a team, collaborating in planning, coding, and communication.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Python tooling (IDEs, unit testing frameworks, static code checks).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to present complex data and insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Customer obsession and ability to own and drive projects to production.

We are responsible for Spam Detection, AI Identity, Name Resolution, and Fraud Detection. By accurately assigning names to phone numbers, detecting spam and fraud, and providing contextual caller information, we enhance users' trust and safety, empowering them to make informed decisions about incoming calls and directly supporting our mission of enabling safe and trusted communication.

As a Data Scientist within the Search team

You’ll lead high-impact initiatives that directly shape user experiences across core features, including Caller ID, Spam & Fraud Protection, and Name Resolution. Your work will drive innovation in spam detection, name accuracy, and large-scale experimentation. Ideal for someone who excels at the crossroads of data science, product, and engineering, leveraging ML, stats, and data engineering to solve meaningful, real-world problems.

The impact you will create:

  • Exploring the problem space and finding data science solutions that provide step increases in customer experience.
  • Planning data science work for the team, with an emphasis on collaboration to achieve common goals.

What you bring in:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in using data science and machine learning to solve real-world problems
