Kavaliro is seeking a Data Scientist III to support a client in Maryland. The role requires deep expertise in machine learning, scalable data solutions, and secure operations, with a focus on building and deploying ML models in production, integrating CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, and supporting mission-critical systems in a classified setting. Responsibilities include designing and developing end-to-end data science solutions, implementing MLOps frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing large-scale datasets and data pipelines, and documenting solutions. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of professional experience are required, along with proficiency in Python, R, or Scala, hands-on MLOps tools experience, and Docker/Kubernetes deployment skills. An active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is mandatory.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 12+ years of professional experience in data science and MLOps
- Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala
- Hands-on experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker)
- Experience deploying ML models via Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-native environments
- Strong grasp of data engineering principles and secure data operations
- Active in-scope TS/SCI with polygraph (within last 7 years)
Good to have:
- Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline
- Familiarity with mission environments, secure enclaves, or IC community tools
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)

- Implement and maintain MLOps frameworks for continuous integration and delivery of ML models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytic and operational needs
- Manage large-scale datasets, data pipelines, and compute environments in compliance with security standards
- Document solutions and contribute to model governance and reproducibility efforts
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala for statistical computing and machine learning
- Hands-on experience with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or SageMaker
- Experience deploying ML models via Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-native environments
- Strong grasp of data engineering principles and secure data operations
- Must possess an active in-scope TS/SCI with polygraph (within last 7 years)

- This position is onsite and there is no remote availability
