Data Security Engineer (L2 Support)

Our client, a leading Asian bank, is expanding its technology center in Kuala Lumpur and seeking a Data Security Engineer (L2 Support). This role involves supporting day-to-day operations and maintenance of the bank's security products, assisting in designing and enhancing Data Security capabilities, and providing L2 production support for applications like Data Loss Prevention, E-Mail Encryption, and Data Security Operations. The engineer will also perform incident resolution, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, coordinate with cross-functional teams, monitor application performance, and maintain documentation for audits and compliance.

Must Have

• Experience in Data Security technologies, industry trends & best practices
• Familiarity with open systems & end-user technologies: Windows, iOS, Android
• Experience with endpoint management platforms (MDM)
• Knowledge of cloud technologies in relation to Data Security: AWS, Azure, M365, GCP
• Understanding of cryptographic standards & secure data transmission methodologies
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills for security-related incidents

Good to Have

• Experience in security monitoring tools and alert handling
• Exposure to ITIL processes
• Incident, change & problem management
• Basic scripting knowledge (for automation or reporting)
• Understanding of compliance & data protection policies

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America are looking for Consultants to be part of the project

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.

The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

##### Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations and maintenance of the bank's security suite of products.
• Assist in designing, developing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing Data Security capabilities.
• Provide L2 production support for security applications including:
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• E-Mail Encryption
• Data Security Operations
• Perform incident resolution, troubleshooting & root cause analysis related to data security tools.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure security controls are effectively implemented.
• Monitor application performance, identify risks, and escalate issues where required.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and reports for audits and compliance.
